Have you resolved the gear fouling issue yet - and did you get out for a decent spin?
I love this frame, and the build, but when I look where the saddle ends up in relation to the pedals, I can't help thinking it looks waaayy too far back. My old beater suffers from this syndrome as it is an MTB with a very long seatpost, and it makes for a comfy ride but compromised climbing and acceleration, and discomfort on anything beyond 10 mile rides.
So how does yours feel?
PS sorry if you've already discussed this to death!
sadly no solution as yet :( its really far from
ideal but I think filing down the axle and soldering my brake cable should get it rideable just about, also need a new dt shifter as the tension required on the hub is so great that the indexing on the shifter clicks on by itself... anyone got anything in their toolbox? -

Why can't you use the SA thumb shifter on the downtube?

Received the low pro.
Love it Ed! Will make for a nice project, and good fun when the weather sorts itself out.

actually yes you are right - i will do that but it's fugly and weighs a crap load, that will however for the time being stop the freewheeling gear!
in an ideal world a black simplex one will suddenly appear on ebay over the next week of so:)

You know what to do - fabricated it by reusing the SA one, know anyone who can change the arm into something.. nicer looking?
or even find a way to get a different arm onto the SA body, a la this;

No such thing as bad weather mate, I'll be riding it regardless.

think i've fixed it! after scratching my head and 2 cups of tea i had the genius idea of just moving the wheel back in the dropouts and using the cable stop as a guide! doh. nevermind
i'll still need to solder the gear cable to stop it rubbing on the frame but i prefer the clean look anyway - that's my weekend sorted
:)

ah ok, well that was the key - the first thing i did when i fitted the gear cable was pass through the stop but it wasn't even close to fitting, now the combination of moving the wheel back 30mm ( a lot), running a cable sleeve through the eye and soldering the cable into the adjuster i should end up with a silent transmission that doesn't rub the frame or my heel but i won't really know till i do it.. wish me luck once i have the magic spare part from sjs

^I hope so.. Awesome project..
^^ Us Dutchies have a grrrreat taste in music.. sigh.. Looks brutal though, if that one guy would've slipped the frame it would've flown over the canal!

Nice to see some truly nice projects coming along. That Pinarello looks awesome! And the Colnago B-stay is yummy, with Shimano or Campy.

thanks to ryan at oak cycles got my headset problem sorted out, and nice skinny carbon forks put in, so this thing finally looks like it's gonna be on the road soon... gonna be a bit of a mash of parts i've got lying around but i'll try my best to make it look good too.

Finally managed to find a sante rear mech to complete my group that didn't cost me the earth, my Koga project can be revived! All I need now is a new fork, stem, and bars and I will be getting somewhere!

^^^ That Venom could be pornworthy if built up nicely. What tubing is it?

Sort of an ongoing project, currently in 'classics' mode while I wait for replacement wheels and better weather. Have also added pedals, bottle cages and been fiddling around with stem/bar position recently to make position a little more aerodynamic and riding in the drops a bit more comfortable.
No side on shot as I can't get far away from it with a 50mm lens in my tiny flat!

Built my first ever wheel today
Converted XT hub laced with Halo spokes to a Aerowarrior rim. No more dethreading hubs for me!
Not in a proper race no, just have fun really, like the Richmond Park kind of thing.
Rather like doing TT actually, even on a Brompton.
