  • Finished, at last.

Not the best possible, but the best possible within my budget - at least that was the aim.

Bought everything on here and other forums ...

... like these Maillard / Super Champion wheels.

50 / 18,19 at the mo, first crack at riding a fixed so just getting used to it.

Frame is very light, Columbus PL (Pista Leggere), bought from a good seller on Retrobike. I have the original undrilled forks but quickly discovered I'm not ready for brakeless, yet.

    My budget was ...

  • Fuck you eh !

    Oi junior, simmer down.

  • Im cool, Im just pissed that I joined this forum and thought I would contribute to it and immediately folk are being snobs and taking the piss, and it's not on.

    That is all .

  • folk are being snobs and taking the piss, and it's not on.

did you read the forum at all before joining?

  • I think the cables on the Koga look ok though. Not excessively long. Beautiful colour on it by the way - where did you get it painted?

Motip spraypainted it myself, probably not the best choice but turned out fine.

  • did you read the forum at all before joining?

I did read it yes, but I have just joined, nobody knows me. Would you act like this to a complete stranger on the street? My guess is that lots of people on here think they can say what they like and hide behind their computers.

anyway thats the end of it, I can't be arsed chatting about this any more im gonna go and have a wank over my Brooklyn as I just discovered Ive finished the polish ;-)

  • He's not getting it is he?

  • /insert standard pub analogy

  • Mr Wap, hang around for a while, its worth it.

  • lies i've been here for ages and i still have received my veronica moser poster.

  • Bit of a service and clean. Also put on some spds instead of clips. Don't think i'll be able to take them off, so much of a better ride, so much better!

  • Finished, at last. My budget was ...
    [worth every penny.]

    Nice.

(A few more of these short, witty posts and I'll be out of the nursery.)

  • Currently working on this Cinelli Proxima Trophy.
    Thron tubing and Athena groupset.
Need to cut fork before I can move on to the rest of the assembling.

  • thanks for breaking the internet.

  • thanks for breaking the internet.

    np mate!
    Sorry for that..
Also worth to mention that i'm looking for a blue suede/leather saddle and cables+bartape are gonna go blue.

  • Need to change to Open Corsa SC tyres

Especially if you're thinking of adding more blue elsewhere.

According to the original build card it was made in November 1974 and delivered to a dealer in the US. No idea how it got home again. But Jackson sold a lot of bikes in the US.

It is made of Columbus PL which is quite light, 1845g for a standard build, frame design is called a Lugano Pursuit and the lugs are 'fancy'. The build card calls for the frame to be set up 'as I Hallam' - ie Ian Hallam, the Jackson-sponsored rider who competed in the '68, '72 and '76 Olympics and twice won a bronze medal.

It is as sharp as a surgeon's kife with the original track forks on, a bit more relaxed with the road forks.

  • Missus CV's Chesini

  • Especially if you're thinking of adding more blue elsewhere.

    Why is that?
I think the ultremos are perfect, the blue stripes aren't too flashy.

  • There's a danger of too much colour coordination, it will end up in anti-porn. Stick with black saddle and tape and put some retro looking tyres on it and somebody will probably flick it over to the porn thread.

  • how embarrassed you will be!!
