Posted these in names & faces, but thought I might as well post here with what's been ongoing.
The Hetchins has had a new seatpost, saddle & tyres. Debating whether to get a Blooks for it, but not sure if my arse would get on with it...
The Boardman has had Thomson seatpost & stem, dffferent tyres (rando cross), and a rack that comes on & off depending on the occasion. Still waiting to get round to removing the cross tops, recabling the brakes and swapping out the front brake for a BB7 I've picked up. I'm trying to decide whether to fit some on one midge bars....
The P3 is pretty much unchanged... I keep meaning to get a 26 rear wheel for it, but it needs new forks, or a fork service as one of the legs has blown.
The GT has had XT shifters & front mech, new front brake and tyres. Really wants a new chainset but ideally a new frame. It's a case of just riding it and stopping spending money I don't need to though for now.
The Haro Race bmx needs air in the tyres and riding.
The street bmx needs a new crankset as I snapped the NDS... it's the type with the bigger splines (8 or 12 maybe? can't remember) if anyone has a pair they want rid of cheap let me know...

Fuck that crash look bad. Glad to hear you're ok and in one piece. It's amazing to see side by images, especially the bars being snapped in 2. Gutted for you, but as you say, lucky to be virtually unscathed.

Sorry to read about crash above. 20 min with a stuck leg must have been the longest 20 min in your life.
I've been to BLB and we are talking about sorting me out with a Piovra frame in Columbus Cromor, Columbus Thron or Columbus SLX. Framebuilder seems to have a preference for Thron, but I can't say I really understand the finer details of it.
Any comment or objections?

fuckin hell chops, you did well to walk away from that... luck of the Irish I guess.
Now maybe its not so shit to have a van after all! Blag some compensation and come visit me. I could do with some help over here, i'll pay you in small amounts of titanium so you can patch it back together -

+1. Looks horrific. One of my favourite forum bikes as well.
Meanwhile, I completely lied about being finished messing around with this:

it seems a shame to replace that beautiful Ti bike with a La Piovra in Thron with shitty welds, crap clearances and ugly drop outs and ugly forks.

I think you think that one person posted something another poster posted.

yep. you're confusing my recent accident with wharry's one. Not saying la Piovra compares with the Ti above. Probably doesn't. But I am looking at a replacement frame tops £800.
Not sure about what you mean by "creap clearances". They seem tight enough to me?
-

My bad, sorry.
Yes they could be worse, but they're not great. That one on Velospace looks better than the ones I was looking at on the BLB catalogue.

You looked at the new Tokyo Fixed track frames? £800 would get you the S1 which is much nicer than any La Piovra and made with Columbus Spirit.

shit Wharry, glad your still with us.
Highway code generally reads along the lines of - an overtaking vehicle takes the responsibility for ensuring a safe pass which should not impede any other road users.
whichever rule no. that is, its the one they use for when ped's get hit by vehicles overtaking (i.e. ped gets hit by car on wrong side of road, when ped 'already' on road). -

Thanks for the comments everyone. Will keep you updated with what happens. I think at the moment I am just happy and relieved to be ok. I rode to work today, no jitters and no problems.

hmm.. that is nice, but they'll have my size (52cm) no earlier than 8 weeks.

Pretty sure I've used up my allocation of luck for a while now.

• #48894
Still... worth a try.

This is my only fixie, and i ride it to school every day, but i still prefer aero bars to drops.... -

I hope you can also get them without that shit on the DT?

Not so current any more following a weekend in Chamonix:
Got a fair bit of attention over there, though I remain to be convinced of the benefits of the missing downtube...
I last went over there about 15 years ago, everyone rode hardtails with cantilever brakes. A lot of the routes that we were doing then now recommend full suspension bikes before attempting them :)

Wharry, dude.... that shit's from another planet.
Your bike was one of my all time favs 'round here...
Glad you're intact, shame your bike isn't.
Take it to Evans, maybe someone there can help. ;) -

Been on with this for a while now. Nothing fancy, just a fucked up charge plug frame and a few old bits but its been an 'interesting' project. Should have it all bolted together tomorrow.

The latest acquisition. The frame is stamped BCM which research has shown to refer to Bocama lugs. The frame may well be a '70s 5 speed budget Gitane.
Whatever, I'm thinking rat fixie, very minimal and I'm going to need plenty of advice as to what may fit as I've been lucky enough to mess round with MTBs and a big box of miscellaneous bits over the last 15 years so I'm out of my depth here.
^^^^^
Uff! Remember that bike very well, what happend?!
Hope you are well.
