just run a v-brake or change the fork - any modification involving welding or brazing is going to involve a fair bit of cash changing hands, and at least a partial respray..

No more blue and you might be ok.

You've put the grips on the wrong way, the flange is meant to be on the inside

As Oz points out your grips are on the wrong way. BUT, you have scored a propper win by getting the Demilition grips. These are by far and away the best grips ever. I ran them for years on the BMX, anything else I tried was never as good. Cut the flange off to make them even better (but still turn them the right way round ;)

For post-stripping or to bring back the colour?

If it's to bring back the colour, I'd go over it hard with t-cut and then wax. It can do wonders.

Easy on the T-cut, its paint thinner after all.
