H8erz will always h8 on a Leader, ask Spotter.
I think its the welds, they did nice smooth ones on mine, I think its becuase they actually took their time making bikes when they made mine. Then they got so popular and started churning out frames at a huge rate and the quality naturally suffered. The used to be no better than visps really, they're still not great tbh. I was told that they only cost $15 to make, but if they sold them at the same price as visps no on would buy them.
if i had the money i would make it just like spotter's, maybe keep white spokes & white seat or something!!
i love the leaders they all look great, however i do have to say the seat post slip problem is still an issue! and does anyone know how to close up that MASIVE gap between the rear wheel and the frame a little ?
This is what it looks like atm
I'd like some syncro's having tried xanders this weekend but they seem to be a little tricky to get hold of.
Re: smaller gap, get a half link and as fior the seat post, I wouldn't do that tightening thing someone suggested as you could go too far and track the front of the tube. -

Mine are the syntace pursuit ones. Got them from 6pt and havnt seen another set since. By far the most comfortable bars I have ever used
-
• #47854
hmm they seem to only sell the Syntace Stratos Zero ones on their US site and only the normal stratos in the EU, unless i'm being stupid.

Removed the Surly decals last night using an Oyster card and a hairdryer. Surprisingly I removed the last set from the front forks without using a hairdryer, and they came off much more easily. Could have saved myself about half an hour had I known that last night.

At risk of making this too much of a 'stealth Leader' page, I definitely think all black is the way forward. Here's mine, seems to do me well at the track so far...
In terms of the post slipping, it did when I first took it for a spin, but then just gave it an extra couple of turns with an allen key and job's a good'un.

How much did you pay for it? No actually on second thoughts, I'm going to hate you even more, don't tell me.
Better question: If it was unused, why did you re-paint?
Yeah you don't want to know how cheap I got it for! :)
I got it re-painted cause the shop who had it made did a terrible paint job and I wanted to restore it back to something a bit more classic. Also it was a little worn and scratched up just from hanging around the place. It's replacing this one, which I just need to take a few nice photo's of before swapping some of the components over (having Campy Pista Cranks (old), gum wall tyres and red toshi straps).

soon to arrive fluro pink gate (fillet brazed MAX tubing)
AHHH!

Why the 753 fork?
-
• #47862
no idea, but I think it's original. I'm glad TBH because I don't like the MAX fork crown
-
• #47863
It's a nice fork, but looks skinny next to the rest of the bike, the internal crown version of the Max fork crown would probably look better with your fillet brazed frame.

Yeah mate. I'd been looking for a RIH frame for years, finally got one and as luck would have it, crashed my old geared bike around the same time so insurance paid for the SRAM Force group. The Planets aligned ;)

I thought I was finally going to finish converting the Bianchi I got my girlfriend for her birthday into a fixed gear yesterday, all I had to do was reattach the rear wheel, as I tighten it up the skewer through the hub snaps. I must have over tightened it, now I've got to wait for a new one to arrive and it's a crappy £8 a pair jobby as opposed to the lovely campagnolo original. At least now it won't be quick release.

I think that will be a rad build Xander. What bb you running with the 75's? I have a centaur that doesn't fit mine for some reason.
-
• #47870
I havent decided on the bb yet as im not sure what size im gonna need. What are specs of your centaur?
-
• #47871
111mm english threading, as prescribed by a fair few in the transmissions thread.
I think I paid 17.50 for it, and I havent used it...

now that the duell is gone and no one wanted to buy the roberts it has been relegated to the everyday bike. mismatch of components of whatever fit.
