I thought brakeless eggbeating was an instant forum bollocking...

I'm getting so impatient with my build. The bits I have so far are really nice, but I've got so far to go til I can ride it :( To add to it I just realized my one of a kind titanium handlebar/stem one piece was described incorrectly in the ebay listing and doesn't fit...
Anyone else get impatient with their builds?

London Cycle Workshop just finished my 'one bike replaces two' build. Designed to replace single speed commuter and hybrid park/shopping bike.

Might be a better angle. It's great to ride. Gear 1 for going up the little hills around where I live is perfect, 2 for the flat and 3 for downhills. Couldn't have asked for more.

Liked that Surly, look like a perfectly decent everyday bicycle, is it the fixed hubs or a freewheel one? waiting for a crankset so I can finish mine up.
Still baffled by the choice of seatpost mind.

Sturmey 3 speed
I like seat post so why not? -

Freewheel one, yes.

Getting there. Too slowly for my liking but definitely getting there.

Like the whole cracking around the spoke hole?
TBH, it's probably just those case of something appearing worse than it is (I mean, sounding like it happening all the time).
The salt put on the roads in winter can lead to hub failure, just like this one pictured^, that together with poor maintenance.
By the looks of it, I'd say a bit of both. -

Just dropped it off at Oak Cycles for rear mech hanger to be taken off (it was brutally added at some point in it's life).
Not sure what frame is it, as it becomes a normal story with my bikes. Frame is pretty light, probably Reynolds 531 or 531c, very common Nervex lugs. It has Dave Russell head badge sticker, but it could have been applied at any point. Frame came without fork but now has nice matching Gazelle track fork on it.
Will try to build it into stealthy beater-ish bike, so i can take apart, respray and rebuild my nicer bike.Sorry for crap phone pictures with no decent light at all, will make some better ones when i get it back.
Got it back.
Some better pictures as promised.
Thinking of stripping it and clear-coating after. Fork seems to be chromed up to crown.
Will go check local DIY shop for nitromors. -

Go to "view all sizes" and choose which size you want it. Then right click on the image and click on "copy image location". bring it in here and click on the 'insert image' button. paste the link into there. Or typeLike (without the spaces it embeds it)

I've just had my Raleigh Corsa resprayed in the original pearl white, buffed up the bars and stem and rims and done a load of work to it. It is pretty sweet looking now and I don't want to ride it in case it gets scratched/chipped/dirty. I wanna bracket it to my wall and have it as an ornament. Is this normal?

Chuck it on the road. The more gravel the better. Just get it rolling then let go.
You'll be too precious with it until it gets scratched. Better just get it over with.
While you're at it, key your car and scar your kids.

Yes. The only cure is to ride it like fuck as soon as possible.... through puddles... muddy ones. That way you get to give it a loving clean and pop it into bed with a nice warm milky drink and a story.

Yes, very.

Rub it down with rocks and sand, then it.ll be ready to ride.

When I first got my Bob Jackson, it was pristine, and I looked after it, meaning I did not ride it enough.
In the end I took the top tube and bite on it as much as possible with my brittle teeth, It was mentally painful, but I rode it a lots more because I no longer worry about keeping it pristine.
I suggest you to do the same.
What's chrobin showing us - is this the obree bike reproduction?
