It's very nice.
Also the Swinnerton up ^there^ - what a fantastic bike.

sweet bike sash, wish i had it :P

• #47582
that looks awesome fun... taking it down the local trails or hitting the street?
I think the wheelset is probably worth >£150!
They just built a pump track here so i'm going to have a go on that. The trails here just got professional rebuilt as they won something like £50,000 funding for them. They'd been there for at least 10-15 years prior to that, but now some chumps who live hear them have got them closed down as they didn't get proper planning permission. No idea why they've kicked up a fuss after so long.
also yasi and sash, excellent work the pair of you, both very porny.

so the new bars arrived and they aren't right so i sent them back
the brake however came today, vintage modolo mach3's which seem pretty nifty - hopefully i'll sort some decent bars tomorrow at the york cycle fair and i'll build up the s3x hub next week
brakes on! by monomaniac(tom), on Flickrthe stem doesn't need to be that high but i'm getting there. new saddle in the post too

Peter, are you going to do Retroronde van Vlaanderen or Limburg's Mooiste?
Looks like a really classy build, what is it?

• #47586
how was the town bike after the crash?
-
• #47587
fine actually, about 1 inch of paint flaked off the downtube but other wise you'd never really know. I think its because I took all of the force of the crash on my face.

Needs some better pedals and a new saddle, but for £150 i'm chuffed. remarkably light too, just over 25lb.
I'm almost tempted to get a blot on cog, al la xander's green machine.
Might have too sell a bike though as i've now got 5 and i'm running out of room to keep them all.
This bike is so much win! This is what I ended up getting

http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/31458/Surly_Disc_Fixed_Rear_HubWhats it like riding a jump bike fixed? I'd have thought that not having a saddle to support your weight fucks your knees a bit. or did you get a long seatpost ?
haha, healing up well?
Not too bad, pretty much all heeled up now, apart from my finger. I've got a nice big divot in my face though

^^ Chicks dig scars.. Chicks dig scars..
Nah, I don't think they really do.
I like to make up stories about my various scars, I might tell people this one was were I got shot or that i got it in prison.

I havnt got a photo of it with the brake or new saddle but its the same seatpost
-
• #47595
you running a front or back brake?
-
• #47596
Rear brake only. The forks I have don't have any brazeons at all. I dont mind it tho

@ Sash: very nice Gazelle.
However, the fork is "wrong".
That belongs to an AA or AB. Your frame is an AA-Special and needs a fork crown with a Gazele logo with circle and more oval (less flat) profiled blades.Did you know that there are Gazelle tubulars?
All rebatched of course. Classic racing tub is "Gazelle" Clement Criteriumm and the training tub is Gazell 300 or 330, something like that. You may find it in older catalogues.Rolls saddle is okay, but real Gazelle-ish would be a Selle Royal Super Contour. Maybe there were even some of those with Gazelle labels. Hens teeth...
Forget about the brake levers. I think there are just 5 sets or so on the globe.
Nobody's gonna sell them.Oh,, cut the brake cables: Gazelle guideline is 4 fingers (horizontally) between tops of bars and brake cables.

hey dutch cheese.
thanks for the feedback.
i know the forks are "wrong" but i wanted to add some more chrome to the bike:-)
i bought frame and forks from vintz as stated above as you can see here:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread65371.html
so i have the original ones.
i spent about an hour yesterday trying to make up my mind which forks to use...looking at the pics now the cables are a bit long but 4 fingers is a bit short for my personal taste:-)
about the the clement tubulars...i can't afford them!
i do ride these bikes and go through a few sets of tubs a year so no way i'll put clement tubs on it...thanks for letting me know though!
i also have a selle royal super contour with gazelle label but it's in really bad state so went for the rolls.cheers sash
Wow!, great Gazelle Sash!
