It's a nice looking build. What's the frame? Something Japanese?

Whom are you going to go for the 953 frame?
I have two years to think about that, but probably Rourke.
-
• #47464
I though you'd go for him, how long is his waiting list at the moment?

^ I had one that looked very similar to that (but in black) that failed in the same way... no idea where I got it though.
Just spent a happy evening trying (and failing) to hammer the crown race onto my fork. I know it's supposed to be an interference fit, but this seems a little interfering! Other than beating it with a hammer and pipe (which seems to get me nowhere) does anyone have any suggestions?
Maybe I'm just not hitting it hard enough?

No pics yet but have spotted a Gazelle 653 frame I'm seriously thinking about turning into a stealth beater. All second-hand parts and rattle canned in satin black but hand-made Gazelle and 653 underneath the cak! Could be a beater winner...
All other projects of mine have turned into virtual museum pieces that I'm terrified of locking up out of sight! I need something ugly on the outside, lovely on the inside.

There are two main sizes remember either 26.4 or 27....make sure you arent trying to hammer a 26.4 crown race over a 27 fork, it doesnt work....I tried for about 2 hours once, so i know :) I should add this is for threaded steerers...I am not sure about threadless, though presumably something similar applies....WWSBD???

Can anyone tell me the exact bars on that pink bianchi?
Don't know the exact bars, but freshtripe have a selection of this kind of thing, although you may need to cut them down a little. Edscoble could point you in the right direction.

Arse, I passed over SB's sizing chart and went strait to the part about whacking it with a hammer! 27.0 seems likely, since most other parts that were on the frame were JIS rather than ISO. Humph... is there any reasonable way to get the crown race on (filing?) or do I just have to bite the bullet and get a new headset (the head-tube races are already pressed in)?
-
• #47475
The problem with filing is that if you dont do a perfect job it will move around and your forks will be forever useless....would be better off just trying to find another crown race (it may even work with the same headset if you are lucky).....
Faaaaaaarking hell those are steep angles!
How does it ride (through the fake countryside)?
