  • frame arrived - the chainstays are insane - this is the chain as it was on the planet X track!!

Madder than a fridge full of cats. Look forward to hearing how it rides.

  • Bit of an update from me.

Planning to clean my bike this weekend, will probably use a combination of Muc-Off and warm/hot water. Will probably pat the excess water off with a tea-towel, then polish with Turtlewax.

Will post before and after photos for you.

Is someone using your account? This is not a project silly.

  • ..... Kris Holm rims.....

So what's that all about then?

  • last week i bought a new stem (deda Pista Newton) for my bike. I was looking for a pista stem for a long while.
I wanted the Pista stem becouse of the look of it but now i can say that it's amazing how much it improved the position of the bike. She's much more agressive now.

right pic with the deda pista Newton stem.

(sorry for the bike repost... I'm still amazed how the stem changed the position and i felt that i must share with you all this experience. A simple detail can make all the difference)

  • I was looking for a pista stem for a long while

But you didn't look at my "For Sale" thread :-(

  • So what's that all about then?

Wider rims for better tyre performance, and KH rather than Salsa Gordo because they are half the price. The Gordo is probably worth the extra (I'd have gone for them if I'd been building a racing bike), but the KH was good enough for my build.

  • But you didn't look at my "For Sale" thread :-(

lol! well, i try hard to stay away of "For Sale"... sometimes i go there and after 2 or 3 minutes i already want to buy all and that's not very good for my €€€

did you have a pista stem for sale?

Sorry, I was referring to all those extra holes in the rims.

My guess would be that the rims are much thicker than normal ones... which makes them stronger, but then you cut holes in them to make them lighter again. But hopefully they are still stronger than normal.

    Close?

  • did you have a pista stem for sale?

Yes, two Deda Newton Pista stems for sale, 10cm and 12cm.

  • Close?

Spot on. Mine are the undrilled XC rims though.
