  • cheers

  • @chris- did you recover the wheels?

Nope, never found them. Sold the ones that the thieves swapped mine for and bought these Goldtec/Open Pros from another LFGSS member. They came with these red tyres.

  • I forget that i changed my username, (Dr Five (black GT), thats a tasty looking frame n fork, noice. If you are ever looking to move it on I'll volunteer to take it off you hands , I'm decent like that =)

  • check the planet x sale. they have all 3 tyres . although they are out of the 700X26c

    cheers

  • My pimp purple town bike is now finished. I spent a bit more than I was planning but it doesn't look bad for something thats 85% spare parts and has been sprayed with a rattle can.

Great fun to ride, feels like i'm about 8 foot tall. I manged to get an 8 speed cassette on it in the end which I surprised by, didn't think Shimano 600 would deal with it, but no problem at all.
Might even get a front rack and go wild.

  • They've got 650*b* - these are wider right? Would they still be able to fit on 650c rims?

  • does anyone know which one is the gumwall and which one is all black

I assume its the trans one but chainreaction are so shit at giving any sort of description and I've been fucked before by them

    same with these ones

    No. Different ETRTO diameters.

Thanks everyone, i'm pretty pleased with it. The frame had 27 x 1 1/4" wheels originally, I just applied a bit of muscle power to the rear triangle to spread it a bit. Still a little tight to get the wheel in but its nothing major.

    wut?

  • Hoping to learn to play polo soon. Also ready for winter. I used to ride this thing a few years ago and totally forgot what a delight it is.

  • From this to that ^ This frame has seen it all.

Good luck on the polo move Toby. I'll have to join in soon.

  • You could've given me the mudguards too. They're quite nice.

  • Hi Guys!
This is my new SS, very very cheap.. :D
    Unfortunately, now I've a Hulk's gear: 52x16...

    My legs are devasted :|

  • think i prefer the tourer build...

and cervogia... singlespeed and no brakes? and is that a smaller front wheel?

  • I've th brake in rear hub, I don't know the name in english.. pardon me
Yes, front wheel is a 26, rear 28

It's known as a "coaster brake".

Also, nothing wrong with 52-16, just takes a little getting used to ;)

    It doesn't.

mine is exactly like spotter's, I still hasn't managed to make the chain come off, even when I rode through a big pothole that was well hidden.

It's probably due to making sure the chainline is perfectly lined up to the middle of the cassette, methinks the long chainstay helped as the chain doesn't get bend that much than a short chainstay when on the smallest/largest cog.

Interested in this. Thinking about possibly running SRAM apex on the rear but single chainring up front on the girlfriend's bike. Possibly stupid question but how do you make sure the chainline lines up exactly with the middle of the cassette? Which hubs/BB are you using?

  • By choosing the correct BB length to compensate for the crankset really.

  • Which hubs/BB are you using?

On my bike its a shimano 2200 hub and a 115mm bb, not even that central, but no issues so far.
