  • and flip your back wheel around, looks like the cog is on this side? also needs spacers on top of the stem unless your going to cut it down. looks good stealth though.

  • @scoots - How dare you pluralise my username and use it as your own!

  • everyone know its scumot

Sorry mate but that's been my nickname for years and i always use it as a username.

The fixed cog is on the side you can see and the freewheel is on the other.

  • @Scoots keep it as is, and keep it real.

  • Sigh.

  • Beside the obvious, don't forget to install a back brake.

Yeah. i have got a back brake for it, just need to fit it, there's still a few bits to do, fit headset spacers, rear brakes, crank and pedals etc.

  • Track dropouts and cable guides? What's the frame?

    Cool, lol

  • Track dropouts and cable guides? What's the frame?

apparently it's a surosa frame but theres no logo on it so not sure. And it's got mudguard eyes.

  • And a lever/bar combo which actually puts the levers near where your hands will be.

(who am I kidding? I've seen the trillions of dodgy singlespeeds out there, too late now)

    kills self

I ride on the flats most of the time only use the horns when climbing so i would say the lever is in the right place.

  • It looks like it's pointing straight down.

  • It looks like it's pointing straight down.

Yeah, i see what you mean but until i get the crank and pedals fitted I'm not going to know the best position,so i won't adjust them until i can sit on the bike in my usual riding position.

  • Cool, should look nice when you're done.

    Cheers matey. much appreciated :-)

  • 46X16 is a bit too manly on this, I will need to get an 18T LeVeL cog, other than that it needs a new headset, but I think Porject:Beater is close to sign-off:

  • It looks like it should feature on here.

  • Disc on the left?

  • for a "beater" it's got some snazzy parts

  • I keep thinking that's a Roberts.... not bad looking, at all.

  • for a "beater" it's got some snazzy parts

The rear hub is quite nice, the rest is entry level stuff- apart from the BB cups which are Record because that seemed to be the cheapest I could find, somewhat strangely.

Everything else came from the spare parts box, or was cheap.

For example I paid for the cranks with some Dremelling.

  • You must be really good with a Dremel. ;)

  • He's like a sculptor.

Not strange - there are only 2 kinds of UltraTorque cups, Record and, for extra money because they omit the seals (???) Super Record.
