  • Don't bother then.

  • Thought I'd post a quick picture of my Brother build, its been an on going project over the last year with parts from ebay etc. Its had track drops, risers and now bullhorns. Aim is to eventually get matching wheels and some pedals that aren't green.

  • bars comfortable at that angle?

  • What's with the bars angle?

  • Old school (ca. 1996) C4 carbon with aluminium rear triangle, group is Campagnolo Chorus 11. My new Sunday best racing bike taking shape. Just need to have my bracket facing tool sharpened and put the BB in, put my good saddle and the rest of the bits on. I'm thinking same-shade-as-fork-blue bartape. Hopefully it will turn out a bit lighter than my Colnago Dream. Really curious about how it will ride, it is my first carbon experience.

  • ^Looks nice.

    ...Its an 80's falcon...

Anyone know what to do about the pitted chrome on the forks?

Also i'm not sure what colour to go for, suggestions?

Just give it a clean and leave it. I'm not really sure it's worth spending £s on rechrome/sprays. Plus season '11/12 is all about the rat look.

Otherwise burgandy (not matt, but not super shiney).

I doubt it, only ridden them for about 30 seconds when I fitted them last night. Going to sort them later.

  • My first road bike project. 1992 Giant TCR, 1 inch threadless, two tone paint. Planning a mix of ultegra/105 for the moment then we'll take it from there...

looks cool, reckon i would rather naked carbon fork though and black seatpost.

    that is all.

I'm not going to get it re-chromed, its not worth the cash. I'm going to spray it myself, i fancy have a go. To make sure I don't balls it up my friend is going to help, he done loads of bikes for others and they always look good.
I like the idea of burgandy, but i'm not sure about the pearl finish.

Can anyone tell me what a good ratio of primer : paint : clear coat is please?

This for me is teh sex. Always like Giant's but that paintjob...

  • spotter - there was a really good thread on home resprays somewhere.

    thanks

colour of the fork is really beautiful, would be a shame to take it off. I see where you're coming from/whet you're getting at, blue/black all over would also be cool. but the Chorus brakes, half the derailleur and the headset are also silver so I thought I'll get away with it ;-)

Yeah sound, just being picky really.

I revel in it's ugliness. The other colour is lime green.

  • after 900 pages how can anyone still have anything unresolved?

  • Very nice Jens.

  • Thanks.
Im not going into details about the parts, but the rear wheel, my favourite part. its build up with a 28h mavic pista hub and it runs better than anything I've ever tried.

  • Wow, mega! Straight to bike porn...

  • That Shamal has the QR wrong side. Says I.
