What the hell is the cog attached to?
-
• #44004
Could be a chain tidy. Quick release with sprocket or often enough just some plastic to hold the chain tight so it doesn't slap against the frame while in transit.

Tidy.

Or maybe it just a 3D model ... :)

It's an axle with a sprocket on no?

See oz's post.
Axles don't have sprockets on. Neither do track bikes.

Shades of Laser. Painted carbon?
Forgive my ignorance but if track bikes don't have sprockets what do they have? -
• #44012
I dont know, it's not real. Can my answer be "maybe" ?

Cogs.A cog. -

Ah. The shadow's wrong, the stand is too sharp edged too. I call fake.
It's very good though.

looks a bit small for you, I'd sell it
good idea. what was I thinking

what looks to be a 3d render on closer inspection
looks like a laser, but they don't have two seat bolts.
good idea. what was I thinking
looks like it would fit your dad pretty well

Paul Gadd?

Oh. OK. Never heard that before. ** tooth cog? I never heard it termed as so. So a sprocket is only if it's on a freewheel?

Nice 'shopping then! Now that I look, the white line above the downtube is a bit of a giveaway.

Finally, almost got a proper pic of my two fave babies together. My friend took these. Steamroller still needs some de-stickering, new crankset and cages and blacking out headset/stem/bars logos. Polo baby needs to give the Steamroller her brake back and get a proper dual lever, also chainset needs swapping to the other side and probs a better gear ratio (canny see). Almost there with both!!

New project, found dumped.
Dawes Super Galaxy
Well abused but salvagable. Think the frame is 531ST but it doesn't have a sticker. I've read this was fairly common on Dawes in the late 90s? Mostly Deore LX groupset with Mavic rims and ITM/3ttt bar/stem. Think I'm gonna get it clear powder coated, get some Panaracer Paselas and loose the ugly chainst. Otherwise I think i'll stick with the bits that are on it.
Came with a Brooks B17 saddle but the rails are pretty grotty. Is it best to paint em without removing them or can you take em off to powder coat and rivet them back on? Also the sadle was so baggy the pin had come out the front. I managed to get it back in place and oiled the threads but when I try and tighten the nut at the front, the pin turns with it. Anyone else had this problem?

I was just about to type the same thing, even taking it to a shop for a service and you've got a decent bike to have some adventures on... looks like someone put a fair bit of thought into the build.
needs mudguards instead of those reflectors though.

Think that's the spec they had of the peg. Might put mudguards on when the weather turns again.
Don't think that stand is connected to the frame.
Edit: not clicking link or getting joke fail.
