So you not showing it? I wanna see that now...
Anyway, I've seen some frames like that from shipping, the seller should be
held responsible for shitty packaging, if from ebay open a dispute, either ebay or Paypal
will cover anything you'll claim up to £2000. Simples.
Fix it cold, like Soperiva said, and Brucy.
If not sent it to me.
Please.;P -

^This, also if you heat it up I reckon you'll melt the braze before you soften the steel enough.

Finally got this sorted and went for a little ride today. It's a late 50s or early 60s Pennine, fully restored with either original or period correct British, French or Italian parts (except the tyres). I bought it as a wreck almost two years ago, got the frame resprayed by Vaz and rode it as a conversion for a little while, but decided to build it back up with gears last autumn. Getting all the right bits (and cleaning them up) was a real quest, but worth the effort. I'm pleased with it.

Please.;PI got a bike with a bent/cracked drop-out refunded by my courier.
Was pretty obvious on outside as well that they didn't exactly handled it with care though. -

Is that the same saddle?
Thanks for the nice comments.
Yes, that's the same saddle. The gear mechs, crankset, pedals, seatpost, and front rim aren't the same as in the before photo. They're the new (old) bits. The bars and chain are also new, but are like for like replacements for what was there originally. Everything else has simply been cleaned up or, in the case of the wheels, rebuilt. When I got it, it had a Huret Allvit derailleur, but as it has braze-ons and a gear hanger for Cyclo Benelux parts, what I've put on it is probably more like it was when it left the shop (which, incidentally, is still in business).

They look great. I have some Airlite/Weinmann wheels that need a similar treatment.

If you have time, try the procedure with the courier or seller. One of them did a poor job.
About the repair: I think it's a 5 min job and the final result is nearly perfect. Cold, with adjustable spanners or (better) dropout alignment tools. Or a bench vice. Derailleur hangers / road dropouts look more frigile to me and these can be repaired cold even when it's bent almost 90 degrees.
Can't guarantee it though, so, better contact the courier. -

Done on the cheap to be a bit more suited to my location, but cannot get on with riding it, so am passing it on, and sticking to what i know better! -

I posted this in here 6 months ago when I started the project and forgot to update it when i finished it. It took me for ever to find little french bits and uncommon nuts and bolts. The only think I would still change is the old brooks saddle with an Ideale saddle. unfortunately I had to sell it to get ready for my move out of london.

just used this for a 100km ride which was awesome! made a few changes from the last pic, really like the gear set up, only got 48:14-28, which is all the gears i need, got a new wheel set to which actually run true!
probably the heaviest bike, oldest bike and the bike with the least gears there, most the other riders were on new £1000 aluminium road bikes with like 18 gears, kept up with mos of them, think i did ok

Some nice bikes on this page.
Definitely. Sunday's posts have been excellent!
would love to have that!
Me too! It reminds me of the bikes that my hostel in Berlin had, makes curbs and cobbles feel like riding over a pencil.

I can tell you've been very careful in choosing the component, excellent job.
Is that the 3 speed fixed hubs? I'd strongly recommend a rear brake with the fixed hubs, it's not exactly idea to use with a front brake alone.
-
• #43723
It seems to have a brake but no cable. Work in progress?
-
• #43724
So it has, first picture threw me off as the left lever didn't have a cable.
