Thanks for the info. I think I'll try the paint remover if they don't ask so much money here in switzerland.
I have done a fast photoshop of what the bike should look like in the end. With of course different components...
yes of course i would like a bianchi pista...but i don't have it. Is it too lame to copy the colour match ?
This is a bad idea.

^ This one looks like a nice old bike. ^ This one looks like a shit new one.

Keep the silver and don't put a red chain on it. Just strip it down, clean it up. Polish alloy parts and maybe give the frame a spray or powdercoat. New tires, with tan walls, a Brooks. Done.
+1
Black paint wont stay on bars, seatpost, rims etc anyway.

well i only kept the frame and fork of it...handle bars and stem i can keep them silver. the rest (rims, seatpost, saddle and so on) I have to buy them. the picture was only showing the colours...the bike is not like that anymore, there is only frame + fork of it.

Yes.
It's not a bianchi, so don't try and make it look like one.
That is like doing this:
Also bear in mind how much you paid for it. It was good deal but it's really not worth spending a lot of money on it.

I really don't get what you're trying to do...
All you need to do with that bike is get a Brooks saddle, some new tyres, polish rims, clean, re-grease/lube were needed - job done.

Okay, I thought I would put up a pic of the project frame at the start so I can track the process properly.
The frame is a 70s (about 74 I think), Guerciotti picked up on ebay for £55.
This will be my first FG conversion so I may be on the lookout for a few tips when it gets towards the end.
The plan is to take it back to bare metal and then have a black frame, yellow lug lining, yellow decals with italian stem, drops, seat post, hubs and brakes all shiny and bright. Not sure on the bar and saddle colour yet nor the type of brake levers I will go with but I guess I can decide both when the rest is complete and built up.
Feedback is welcome hence the post...

The latest on my (very slowly) progressing projects...
Leader 725tr v2
Just ordered some rim tape and tubes for Varno's wheels. I was thinking about a set of all black Schwalbe Ultremos to go on them. I'm selling the seat post but am at a loss as to what post I should use. I'm hoping to use this at Herne Hill (I've never been or tried track racing before, but really want to have a go) as well as occasional road use. Suggestions please!
Raleigh Mixte
A conversion for my flatmate. Had it sprayed at Armourtex, put on new decals and using old parts I have lying around combined with cheap second hand parts. She's on a budget! Trying to get hold of a cheap Brooks or brooks style saddle for it. Again, all suggestions welcome!

Very exciting. And a good deal.
Personally I would bother getting enamel (rather than powdercoat) done by someone like Argos Racing Cycles, or Mercian.

Wow, if that is a Guerciotti then thats one hell of a deal, nice work... I'm slighly obsessed with them!
Get Vaz to do it sparkly orange for ya, powedercoating that would be a crime...

Been messing about with this, but it has loads of toe overlap, which is new to me, and a bit scary. (slack chain, yadda yadda)

I'm converting a Coppi Aluminium K14 from fixed to a road build.
Will be listing both wheels, chainset, chain, and a few other little bits in the Classifieds forum soon.
It came with both Campy Record and Shimano 600 Tricolour components, and I've chosen to complete the build with 600 as it's cheaper!
Going for Italian flag colour scheme, have found a red saddle, red/cream bar tape and green/white/red tyres.
Things left to buy:
Chainset, BB, left shifter (DA double), cables. I'm tempted by chrome cables. Good idea?
