it's too old to be called a "fixie"... changing the album name is all it needs :P

Only planning to lube and polish the bike. The hubs and bottom bracket still need lubing which I plan to do next week then I am going to use some fine wire wool to remove the surface rust before polish cranks, hubs, spokes, stem, etc...
No plans to change any parts on the bike as I wanted to keep it as it is.
Perfect! Then magic it in to a 25" frame and sell it to me.

here is my attempt.... (apologies for rubbish photo)
Waiting for rear sprocket and freewheel and it is good to go.
It is done. The nice mavic/105 hub front wheel need the cones adjusted so I nicked the wheel from my beater (which looks like it has been in the wars). However the bar tape looks fucking wicked despite my poor attempts at photography.
Seriously though, I had the most fun cycling on this beast in 30 minutes than I had in the last 3 or 4 months. Was smiling like the Cheshire cat on the way back after showing off to my mates. Proper chuffed that I done a decent job of my first full bike build.
EDIT: I done a massive fail and didn't shoot drive side shots....oh well fuck it, too late now.

Here is the new track build. I have not quite finished tweaking the set-up but she rides very well, not as harsh as I first thought it may be. Set up for training round RP at the moment.

Nice !

For xmas I bought my BJ a campy pista crankset.
and for my SS 29r project, this is currently winging its way from Thialand.
I'm such a generous guy ;) -

could be a claud butler, but definitely uk maker, late 40's early 50's. full chaterlea is worth quite a few £££'s, even small flange airlights. frame seems to have been resprayed very early on in life as the grease nipple in the BB is painted over. i would be careful cleaning it, although all the chrome should come back to new pretty easy.

Its 580mm wide which is probably a bit wide for my little arms.
Not chopping it though, its all about leverage in 2009.

you've made taping a frame up look a lot harder than it is, get about 3 rolls of quality matte black leccy tape and some patience and you can get a real nice stealth finish. must try harder!

So I bought this Italian Viner 650 track recently:
Since it's very battered (you can't see how bad in the photo), I'm going to powdercoat it in the summer, and not before, so in the meantime I got some of this:
and created this monstrosity:
I'm in the process of swapping over all parts from Marshmallow the First.... which make it very weird looking, but it turns out the bugger has an oval chain ring! Yay!
And the crankset is Ofmega, so it has a unique BB. Hello new drivetrain. Oh, did I mention it has 150mm cranks, and it gets toe rub even with them? WOOO!
The forks are undrilled and the crown has no room for drilling, and I get about a fag paper's clearance with 23 tyres on. Hello new 650 fork with enough raking! Huzzah!
I do love these easy no-fuss bikes....

Do you mean without the vinyl? I thought about leaving it, but it doesn't go with pink and celeste! (because holographic grey really does.....?)
