side the grips down to the ends of the bars or tape the entire things and your on too a winner
Was contemplating that but my fav position is hands on the top of the bars
-
• #41928
It can still be.
-
• #41929
yeah, it could be lovely but with the grips only there just looks silly

It won't be once you get fitted properly and put two drop-bar brake levers on your bike.
-
• #41931
it has to be brown leather tape to go with the saddle.
edit - might ride it a bit before taping though as that stem looks shorrrrrt
also, consider taking a link out of the chain.

The forum says move the grips or tape the whole bars.

Sort the QR out too, unless its open?

I had the brooks tape and the grips in hand - my preference came down on the side of grips. I can chop and change them for a fiver as opposed to the £35 for the brooks tape and in case i want to change the bars
As for the link i'm replacing the rear wheel so will do that at the same time.
I like an upright position hence the short stem and the grips in the top

considered some porteur/moustache style bars? I think they would really suit the frame, and they're great if you prefer a more upright riding position.

Picked this bargain frame and a few parts up today at the Redditch cycle jumble.
Quite tatty, but I love the lug work.

That brake block look massive! what are they?
-
• #41938

Fuxxake
I have had my Trinity The Light Blue frame minus the forks for 6 weeks now - Winstanleys having problems getting ISON Distribution to replace the missing forks - the classic line 'The man who knows about it is on holiday' - finally come back home after a week working away and they have delivered the forks - picked them up from Parcel Farce depot this morning, rushed home to start building it - fuck my luck they've only sent me forks that have obviously been pre-cut for a smaller frame - either that or they've just sent me whatever they had lying around.....I actually said to Winstanleys when they advised me they were posting them out 'I bet you'll send me the wrong forks'......'No of course we won't' they said.....
I've now got to post them back...
So pissed off - do you think it's appropriate to ask Winstanleys for a gesture of goodwill for all the fucking about? - three phonecalls a week chasing them? Fucking expensive cloths stand/ornament
Winstanleys will never apologise or give you any goodwill gesture. One of the worst shops I've ever dealt with. Plenty of people with similar stories in BMX scene.

^ they were ok pre-sale - friendly and helpful on the phone - less so after the sale. I am disappoint.
-
• #41943
Of course they're ok pre-sale. They want your money.
So many times people have ordered stuff that they say they have in stock, 2 months later they finally get a response telling them that they didn't have that in stock and they'll let them know when it is. Refund? No chance, just wait until it comes into stock.

My frogglegs came with utter shite cartridge pads. After doing some comparison I prefer the Tektro floggleg style brake over the proper Frogglegs. Tektro has spring adjustment and a better mount for the pad. Also the cable bridge is piss weak on the foggleg. Mine bent beyond repair so am now using Onza bridges

I bought from them once. Never again.
Stick to selling Prams Winstanleys.

Spotter has suggested a possible remedy for my lack of steerer. Would a 1" quill to 1" ahead adaptor solve the problem, or is that still a dangerous proposal on a carbon steerer?

Ah didn't know It was a carbon steerer, I'm not sure that would be safe then. I hope I'm wrong so you don't have to buy new forks.

Just get new forks m'kay?

Agreed on the frog legs pads... Think I will upgrade eventually

^again this is what I had feared.
And I am looking to replace the forks, just have to offload the two that are now surplus to requirements, before I can afford new ones!
No, single market, innit? The only things you'd pay duty on would be items where the man insists on stealing huge amounts of your money in clear breach of the spirit of a single market, i.e. booze and fags.
