  • I think it's a Specialized P3, used to lust after one when i was a kid;

  • @noca- does that framebuilders also do just forks?

  • Beautiful, looks like the bigger (nicer) brother to my Rekord

    it is
    and it's got a lucky frame s/n

  • Finally got round to finishing the Ribble. Need black bartape...

  • What frame is this?

  • was just kidding around. the bikes a little confused, but whatever! ride it. cheers.

Ah well basically, gpt ot about 10 years ago before ss became so common for dirt bikes, started off as a heavy duty all day ride everything bike in malaysia, got back to uk realised it was an absolute pig to ride uphills, ride it mainly on dirt and race 4x on it now, but ride to the spots as well. 24" rear makes it alot quicker through the whoops, and with a 24 front would suffer alot of pedal strike... and it has a bottle cage for when am not carrying a pack...

My current project, Specialized P2 SS -

Specialized P2 frame, paint stripped by previous owner (or P1, P3? Anyone know how to tell them apart or are frames identical?)

Fox Vanilla Forks, Hayes Nine Hydraulic Disc Brakes, Halo SAS rims.

She is running OK but still needs finishing -

Odd set of brake levers fitted; brakes need fine-tuning; forks need adjusting; QR skewer slips in horizontal drop (ideas? See thread in mechanics section).

Get an alan key rear skewer, available for not many dowrahs, and some tugs maybe?

    looks nice.

    thats how mine began life.

P1s and P2s look the same!

one is steel and one is alu!?*

    *i thought wrong...

  • What frame is this?

he had it custom made, look back through his posts

  • who did the couplers job, and how much wa it at the end, all in?

Frame was built with the couplers by the guys at Enigma from Columbus Spirit.
They charge £350 for the couplers as part of new build. Not sure if they do retrofit, give them a bell.

  • @noca- does that framebuilders also do just forks?

    hummm!
    maybe... I think so.
I saw there alot of steel (also for forks)
And this one is not from them. I didn't buy it there.

  • and this

you'll get one cheaper on here.

    I got one for £20

  • I still can't work out why people spend so much money on Dolan frames. They're no different from every other generic Chinese frame, the carbon frames were rebranded Italian frames. They put their brand on something and the price shoots up. I hated the Dolan I was given to use. BB was so high and the front end really twitchy.

  • I hated the Dolan I was given to use. BB was so high and the front end really twitchy.

    ridden a track frame before?

  • Many different ones. Old and new. The Dolan was especially twitchy.

  • BB was so high and the front end really twitchy.

That sounds good to me! isn't that how they all are?

  • It is a track frame after all.

nothing wrong with Dolan to be honest, they're decent frame for the money.

  • Very nice.

I really want a modern road bike. Just struggling on what to get as money's a bit tight. I guess the sensible option is a decent used alu frame, then switch the parts over, and upgrade over time.

Modern steal or CF would be the dreaming though.

Good Idea. Quality aluminium bikes are pretty under priced, and there's quite a few of them out there. I'd buy a complete bike. Proper road bikes have so many fecking bits. I'm struggling to see the end of my build.

    p1 2 and 3 from around 2006. all same frame, p1 and 2 were complete, 3 was frame only. i cracked h/t on p1, got a p3 under warranty.

  • Did that used to be Adam Russ'? Looks lovely though!

Cheers man. Nah we've both got the same frame, his has the original forks though, bostord.

Just this second ordered a Super Record front mech. So things are moving along. I had planned on buying a complete Chorus Groupset. Buying it component by component like this, is really going to expose my weakness's.

  • Super Record.

    Not worth the money

  • But think of the bling Yogi, think of the bling.
