why?

why?
I'm not sure if the decals are original pinarello, never seem them like that before..
forks seem pretty corroded after just stripping the bike , so if I put new decals, may as well powder,
came with panto'd 3ttt stem,
Campagnolo Gran Sport bits and a campagnolo GS panto'd pinarello seat post,
so I'll hazard a guess-late 70's early 80's frame -

Hi,
very nice bicycle.
Where did you get the stem?Cheers
Thanks :)
Its a livery design gruppe adjustable stem. I bought it from fixed gear frenzy.
Frame is from viking cycles

My build now complete. Decided to use drops instead of risers.
I used old inner tubes for the grips and whiskey bottle corks for plugs.
i am really really feeling this!
ive just been scoping out viking, look like really nice framesets! out of interest, did you have to add anything on for duty?and is ^ that 'grey' cos they don't seem to stock black, but that looks black.

A little steep I think. Sold my Dolan precursa for close to that, alum, lightly used with Alpina headset, seatpost and carbon forks and there were simillar deals going around in the past week. Even a very nice green nervex lug frame for 110 if you are looking for steel. Plenty of bargains to be had if you hunt around.
Sounds expensive to me, they aren't the prettiest framsets. I sold a whole 08 track for 250.
Thanks for the advice, I could of made a silly mistake then, the dude has not even replied anyway, maybe ask for a lower offer and see what happen, say £150 posted with bars?

The headset is hand tight, the chain about a link too long cause I can't find my chain tool, it has toe overlap, which I'm new to, and I've not found a brake yet. So all in all, DeathBike. Think I'll be switching back to the Gazelle for Sunday's East ride.

Just fitted a set of Curana C-Lite mudguards on my Rourke -
• #41038
They look nice and smooth. How did you find fitting them?
-
• #41039
Had no problem fitting them, went on in about 10 Minutes. They've got multiple fitting options and the pack includes about twice as many bolts than you actually need. Highly recommended

i wish i bought them instead my dumb-arsed sks ones!

Got some On-one marys for my fixed hack, looks a lot better than my previous cockpit set up, and rides better too. Just need a rear rack and then I reckon I'm done.

Budget Pompino build nearly done (is it a faux pas to post in the pompino thread and current projects?)
Pompino frame bundle (bars, F+F plus parts I've not used)
Tektro RL520 levers
Avid Single Digit 5 V-brakes
Parts off my Plug Freestyler make up the rest (most parts temporary except for cranks)All in, it's cost approx £300 so far.
Next, I want a new wheelset (black open sport on gold planet-x hubs with silver DT comp spokes I think), seat post, saddle and stem...

I'm liking that a lot, looks like loads of fun.

This is the grey colour. The photo does not do justice for the actual colour. Nor does the colour on the website! It's more like a deep grey bordering blue.
Regarding duty just ask Viking to mark the value lower. The duty you should pay is 4.7% of the declared value then 20% VAT of that total. Customs made a massive mistake by misreading the declared value writin very clearly so I had to pay £325 charges :(
I know I can get the money back because it's an obvious mistake but just so annoying!!!! It will take up to 8 weeks to get a refund.... Grrrrrrr!!!!!!

I was not happy but really wanted the frame in my possession. Did not want to risk it getting lost or damaged if i refused the parcel and asked them to recalculate! It could have taken months for it to be returned to the Coventry international hub and for them to rectify the charges.

Hi, what size mudguards did you get? And what size tyres are you running? I'm not sure which size to put on my 28mm tyres (35mm?).

What would you use instead? I just find they are really secure so my foot will never slip out.
-
• #41049
yea, thats fair enough, as if they could just rob from you like that though! the frames are £400, so to pay £325 on top in taxes is a piss take. you should definitely try and sort something out though!
still, she does look good.

personally clipless pedals like time atac's, but if i didn't use that a nice comfy touring pedal like mks gr9's with double straps, or even those velcro straps that you can use with normal pedals from germany. Pedals are obviously a personal choice i just think its a shame to get a lovely classic frameset like that and wack big fat cheap looking plastic pedals on it.
