  • thanks for the advice xxx

I read all of your posts Butterfield's voice.

  • It is an English word, but probably not the one you're looking for. I assume the filler you used was actually an epoxy resin rather than bitumen.

    Thank you.

  • Imagine if the bike is leaning against a wall, as in the photo, and slip / fall, the handlebars will hit the top tube. So i put a "protection".

when can i see the bike? :)
    congratulations varinho ;)
    great job you did

  • I read all of your posts Butterfield's voice.

    perfect!

  • nice and simple - any close-up photos of the paintjob.

  • No its just raw steel and rust.

  • latest project.

So the frame and forks have not been drilled for brakes, will have to man up and start riding track (fortunately there's a one 2 minutes away form me in welwyn). Having not owned an alu/carbon bike before, i'm blown away by how light it is, on the bathroom scales it says 2.5kg.

If anybody can tell me anything about the frame, I'd be happy to hear, my guess is it's a pinarello prince pista. I'm also trying to work out the seat tube diameter, it does have a clamp which says 35.2-35.6 (http://bike.com/miche-seat-posts?Av=53205)Thought it may be worth mentioning if it's possible to work out internal diameter from the external.

  • The post will be 31.6/31.8.

    Nice bike. Needs crabon tubs

  • ah thanks very much!

+1 on the carbon tubs, will need to get saving.
Thought ellipses may be a cheaper alternative.

  • it's cryin to see the streets, jambon, come on - risers!

  • what frame and what forks?
    it looks really good

Its a BLB track. Not a bad everyday bike.

  • latest project.

Sorry to say, but that's not very light. Could be done with a R531 frame and light carbon fork.
Not that it matters a lot...

  • not really the right thread but that frame above reminded me, fuji track 07 with some chips in the paint for £170 frame, fork, headset and BB

    good deal?

if i get it it will be a current project ;)

Contact Varno, he's going to be getting some 50mm crabon rims pretty soon whisc I don't think'll be too much more than Ellipses.

  • A little steep I think. Sold my Dolan precursa for close to that, alum, lightly used with Alpina headset, seatpost and carbon forks and there were simillar deals going around in the past week. Even a very nice green nervex lug frame for 110 if you are looking for steel. Plenty of bargains to be had if you hunt around.

Sounds expensive to me, they aren't the prettiest framsets. I sold a whole 08 track for 250.

I want to, but i'll die on my hilly commute to university.
I'm sure risers will be fitted at some point!

Coming from a bmxing background i'm still easily impressed with how light track/road stuff is.
That's surprising, I wouldn't have thought you could achieve that with a 531 frame, i imagine it'd be much stiffer too.

    Nice one, i will.

  • I think you did a wonderful job, a perfect example of a singlespeed road bike.

  • Not really a project but its constantly changing.

    Looking tight luke !

2.5kg? Really? I would be pissd if a carbon /alu road frame set weighed that much. A decent mtb alu ht frame would weigh less than 2kg and carbon mtb fork less than 1kg :s
