hi again
this is my first singlespeed project.
...also my first "road" bike. I was a BTT lover...
i used a columbus steel road frame. I cleaned the cable supports and than painted the frame with a color i made (mixing alot of colors... i can't repeat that color again :) )
Mavic Aksium road wheels, dura-ace stem, cranks shimano 600 tricolor...some weeks ago i was thinking about fixing the bike
the different set of wheels (back wheel: weinmann ; front wheel: gipiemme tecno) helped me visualize it
right now i have it singlespeed (as the first pics)

@ Tenderloin - Flite is definitely nicer, stem looks odd in some way. Not sure why!

Bars and seatpost came in. Just had a first ride, rides great. Just waiting for some bartape and will upgrade from there. First thing will be the wheels. Stem might go aswell, even with correct shims there is still a tiny bit of irritation left. So I might have to go for a regular 25.4 stem. I'd like it to be aero and with an hidden bolt system, any suggestions?

^oof! what's the seatpost dia? if it's 27.2 - you're cool, if 26.2 - not so cool
-

Mine is 26.6. How come? Or do you mean Brucy's?
-
• #40285
yes, Brucy's
"^" means referring to one post above, "^^" - to two posts above, "^^^" - to three posts above and so forth, i hope you get the idea -

26.2 why no cool?
-

If the seat post is 20.0mm, it's über-cool!

27.2 were made of Columbus TSX, weren't they?
-
• #40295
If not, it will be like my Meteor. Soviet gas pipe. Still tank of a bike.
-
• #40296
My Favorit is also 26.2.
BUt it's fairly light, even for Italian tubing (which it isn't)... I'd risk to say, lighter than Columbus from 1980, for sure lighter than 531. -
• #40297
^agree the frame and fork was lighter that my 531 of the same size^
-
• #40298
i'm not sure which Columbus exactly, probably not TSX - Takhions were SL and SLX, and TSX is the one after SLX (by after i dont mean better)
and meteor is from 60-ies and 70-ies with 25.0mm seatpost, and kvant is from 80-ies with 26.2 seatpost -

Just arrived:
Which is:
A "Fix and Mix" bundle, which seemed like a good deal. Will be assembled from parts taken off my Charge Plug Freestyler to begin with, as well as parts that came in the bundle. I chose to go with Midge bars as I've been considering them on my daily commute bike for a while but not gotten around to buying any.
yup, a flite and a syncros post, have always been my favourite combo
