The Merican look right as rain with the brake hood, I somehow find the ol' dirty harry closed to the stem look quite wrong, that set-up look brilliant.
If you're still experimenting with different bar, have a look at the Randonneur bar, damn comfty with a lovely flat hood as well as a flat drop.
I remember reading that you find legs braking a bit hard work during a long tour? I assumed there's no chance of drilling the rear bridge?
Cheers Ed, feels really good so far. The bars are just old giro d'iltalias from eBay. Will try them a bit and will definitely give Randonneurs a go if I don't get on well - heard loads of good stuff about them.
Planning on riding to Copenhagen this year so not too hilly. Will probably go 70" which will be a little easier on the legs. The rear bridge doesn't look drill-able and I think I'm too much of a tart to do it anyway. Considering building up an S2C rear for hillier trips.

Large flange record pista. Airlites do look lovely though, probably a bit too old school for this bike.

I love how all LFGSS'ers have sweet ass bikes, but skanky nasty rooms, and read crap books my men with overly large facial fungus.
The frame colour though rocks my world, so most of the rest can be forgiven.

new saddle, stem, road bar and pedals. not really classical, but more comfortable for the velodrome.
-
• #40035
My new project. Still to take some HED 3 Wheels and some more black componentes because it is too yellow.
-
• #40036
I was watching that frame on ebay.

Just needs Bar tape for comfort, and 2 small washers for aesthetics (!) first impressions not as scary handling as I'd expected... 83.5 inch (54-17) gear feels nice.
Dude somebody just posted your bike in the anti-porn -

why? -
• #40039
^Why less yellow?
Frame is unusual so it stays better when it has less yellow around to match. Hed 3 wheels will stay better than this Gipiemme just one need to be repaired. I prefer the mike burrows wheelset but it is almost impossible to find and expensive. Yellow tape will go out because it will came new cane creek road levers and also seatpost will be replaced by a aero mike burrows one. -
• #40040
Are you going to try and set it up with a magic gear?

Yeah I rode my moto down to Lagos last summer then came back up the west coast. Beautiful area, was thinking on the way back would be great to cycle it. Stopped in Costa Nova one night, saw alot of cyclists around there.
