checked you rim/inside if the tyre?
-
• #39603
well that's just not going to happen
ha. I expected that.
Yeah have you run your fingers round the inside of the rim and checked for any protruding spokes/nicks in the metal etc...

Brand new wheel. New rimtape, tyre, everything. And yeah. That's 3 innertubes now. Sucks.
-
• #39605
Did it happen before the new tyre?
-
• #39606
Deep section rims? struggling to get the tyres on? tried a bit of talc on the tube and then be real careful with the levers putting the tyre on. Also inflate a little then go round the tyre and massage it so you can check for the tube being piched and make sure the tyre is seated right. then inflate fully.

Well I've had this problem before and can't figure it out. I've tried changing where I put the last bit of tyre over the rim too to check I wasn't pinching it and it still happens. I've now snapped 3 tyre levers because 23mm wire bead gatorskins are bastards so have pumped this last one full of Zefal puncture repair stuff and it seems to be holding for now.

I can't even afford new innertubes. This blows.

I've never had problem getting gatorskins on/off. I do it with my hands unless I've got cold fingers. Vittoria have always been a bitch to me.

whilst you're at it invest in some of these sumo, best tyre lever i've used.
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=79&ModelID=14884I can't take them on and off by hand, my thumb isn't strong enough since i smashed my hand up. The reason i asked about the tire is because when i still worked in a lbs i had a guy who kept coming in with punctures. I kept checking his tyres, couldn't find anything, but once i was talking to someone and absent mildly pinch the tyre, there was a small piece of wire in it that you couldn't feel when you an your fingers over it, and the hole was too small to see it. it would only pop out when the rubber was compressed.

Ooo cheers spotter. I'll get some when I have cash. I normally can, but my finger is still a bit fucked from the minidrome, so the tyre levers came out. It's on the underside of the inner tube where I always get puncture, always at the point opposite the valve too. No matter what rim tape I use. I blame specialized.
I've posted in this thread way too much tonight. -

-
• #39624

no shit Sherlock, really???? I can see now that you are good in maths....
I seem to be plagued with punctures at the moment too. Keep getting mystery holes on the inside edge on the side opposite the valve. Even when I repair them they burst again. I blame these shitty specialized tubes.
