  • That's very good for a first build. Well done. Really like the colour of the frame too.
    to AKing.

  • Spotter: 3 hours and 3 bottles of nail polish remover got rid of most of it. It'll get restored (repainted) when I've found a NOS period correct groupset for it.

Can't wait to see it finished, can I have first dibs if you ever sell it?

    Yes.

But I wont. It's my dream bike, and has been for many years.

  • Max said that.

  • Max said that.

I mean it. I'll never let the frame go, it's just too rare to find it in my size. Plus I've got 3 other bikes I can use, so practicality isn't much of an issue.

    what size is it??

  • oh yeah - 'dales done.

Blah blah blah should have drops blah blah....
The actual fact is I want wider risers.

Coming from riding your Surly and your trick bike, I'm not surprised!

I find myself wanting wider bar after the riser I have that were wider than the average fixie skidder one now felt too narrow.

    :D gush

yeah, when I bought the frame (on here), I didn't really like the colour scheme, but have grown to love it. Still not a fan of the ST and DT raleigh stickers, you can't see it in the photos, but they look gash.

    in original color?

    why max sold it?

  • he went mad in the head from too many kebabs

  • He's a roadie now. Shaves his legs and everything.

  • was noseying on gumtree in library tonight and saw this peugeot for sale.

had been in some guys loft for years and was dirtier than jodie marsh, flat tires etc too.

two hours from buying it later!

Malliard pedals, malliard quick release hubs, mavic clincher rims, san marco saddle.

reynolds 501 but pretty light tbh.

  • how much did you pay?

  • A whopping £40. :D

  • That Peugeot sound like a good 'un, got decent part and decent frame.

It's better than your average Carbonite 103 pug out there.

  • Pretty nice beater you got there.

  • Its lighter than a regular wheel. As its a tension disc. i.e kevlar strands like spokes with a covering.
Makes a wicked noise going down the road.

I now see in the picture you can see through it.. Even cooler! In the picture of that bendy tt frame put on sale here earlier it looked reflecting and I thought it was metal or something... Well cool!

  • this page is amazing.

    that is all.

  • I think it might be heading back towards gumtree for the bob jackson respray fund.

make a lovely wee commuter for someone though.

I've 4 bikes and two frames in the house at the minute ffs, serious clear out needed.

  • why max sold it?

    Because he was hungry.

  • You obviously dont know Dave Marsh aka Universal Cycle Centre and his bad taste paint jobs back in the day. They where the flavour back then. It is original as i know the person who originally built the frame. having had 2 made at the bike shop myself some years ago.
And yes it was on ebay didn't sell and i got it bloody cheap!

^Remember it being pretty cheap on ebay aswell.. Good job! And no: a young'un and Dutch, this forum has introduced me in the world of british builders.. Am familiar with bad taste of the eighties and early nineties..

But I was more wondering the mix of Columbus for fork and Reynolds for the frame, but I guess the customer decides.. I like those forks very much..

I ride one of these (maybe a year younger, the decals are slightly different), converted with a £60 Stonglight Mygal chainset & BB and Mavic-on-Formula wheels and it's seriously decent. I paid £50 for the donor. Maybe £250 all in with brand new pedals, chain, sprocket, tyres etc. and it's lighter & more fun than a Charge. I love it.

  • what size is it??

    68.5 cm CtT

  • I reckon the paint looks quality, looks real tidy as well.
