  • Nice Charlie, have to go for a burn when I'm back in Paris and IF I bring a bike back

You can always rent a Velib...:)

  • This looks amazing mate, really classy and elegant with a subtle colour scheme. Great job. Its made me think about getting a geared racer now.

What rims are they? I'm still looking for some black rims for my c-records.

  • Looking to build one of these, for some muddy fun.
The contrast of skinny steel tubing and fat 29r tyres looks great IMO!

  • first wheel i've ever built, needs to be trued... seat is for the high seat pedants

  • Lovely bike, buddha!

  • @ Koens - Should have gone down the silver shiny route. That white looks a bit 'mad' IMO

  • Many things still to do, but now its rolling, and so very very lovely to ride.

  • Nice gizzo!

I've had a couple of pints, is that a 650 or my eyes?

  • Thanks.

    That would be a 650.

you know I have intoxicated some alcohol and was thinking the exact same thing.

  • Just went for a test drive with lpg ... & the hoods are too far forward and too low

    Your bike looks lovely Buddha!

My road bike with Cinelli 65s had the levers positioned as shown, when built.

They were later moved up about half an inch to make riding on the hoods more comfortable.

You should probably reposition your levers and tilt the bars up slightly.

    Hipster! ;p

Looking very nice Guy. What's on your 'to do' list?

  • ah! now I see why you want the obama-spoke! :D

  • why didn't people use coaster hubs for a singlespeed bike especially for those who want to have a brakeless look?

I just went for a short test ride on my girlfriend's new ride (minus saddle, hence short), and coaster brake is a fucking dream.

  • They were the shit with bmx's back in the day.. :)

I skidded through a brand new BLUE (hipster!) tyre with two skids visiting friends in Melbourne.

    Parents were not so pleased.

I have had 2 Velosteel based wheels in the past, one of which is now gracing Gizmonds girlfriends bike! Great bits of kit, especially for a pub bike, but they weigh a fair bit

  • exactly the same hubs I just got, pity it came in only 36 holes of which made it harder to find mavic CXP 33 sliver rims in 36 holes (all I can find is 32, so I got a cheaper one), it's weighty yeah but it work beautifully, look gorgeous, and only £20, thought the weight is a moot since it's on the central of the wheel.

all I need is the fucking seat post, that's what left on the bike, just the damned seat post, argh!

  • BLB or TDV might have something?

  • quick question, a bit of slack is alright on a coaster hubs bike, right?

  • why would you ever want slack?

  • As in chain slack? I would try and get it as tight as possible personally - you dont want the chain skipping if thats your only brake

  • Also i always put a rubber shim on the inside of the bracket that attaches the arm to the frame, to stop it scraping the paintwork,

  • quick question, a bit of slack is alright on a coaster hubs bike, right?

It shouldn't be so tight it binds when you spin the wheel. A bit of slack is okay (preferred, even) so long as there's no chance of the chain unshipping.

  • I know that view of the river gizmond ! You local or were you on a ride ?

well, i'be been shaking it and trying to remove it, but alias nothing, it seemed fine, I just can't be bother to removed another link, but I'll get to it again to tighten it up, right now I just can't be arsed.

Actually I just used an old inner tube and wrap it around, good advice thought.
