wow, nice (bar the brake levers)! Have at least the tip of the level lined up with bottom of the drops, any more and it'll be uncomfortable (and look baaad)

The levers completely flummexed me - these are criterium bars - if I move the levers up they stick out - like having big ears - what it the correct place for levers on criterium bars? tip level with bottom of the bars but sticking out like biog ears I suppose -

Andy - it turned some heads today - its not finished yet - just a trial run - I need to make some changes - it is the wierdest thing going from brakeless - to having all these controls !

that handlebar seemed to look a bit different than your usual road bar, going against the rules, perhaps tilting the handlebar a little bit up (i.e. the bottom part isn't straight) to compensate?

Congratulations. That looks awesome. I am just embarked on a similar project. I have recently won a vintage Italian road frame (CIÖCC) in NOS condition and looking forward to build it up with some 80s componentry.
A pic from the auction....

@buddha - I think, as Ed says, the bars are slightly over rotated so you might want to turn them up slightly. The levers can probably be moved up a bit but there is no right or wrong, just get them so you are comfortable. Check out pics of Sean Yates to see that some people rode them like that all the time.

I have been looking at the Ciocc auctions for months on ebay - that guy was selling some amazing frames - including some with crimped and twisted tubing - if I hadn't have already bought the pinarello I would have bought one too!

Are these Criterium bars or short drop Italian bars? I'll strip back the tape and play with the bar position and hood placement - I also have a shorter (not pantographed) stem - see if I can't find a more comfortable position
that's very... pink!
