This is my first fixed build. Raleigh Winner frame, wheels built by a chum, other bits cheap from the interweb. I have a curvy lo pro fetish, so I've started saving.
Heh, my first build was (still is for that matter) a cheap-ass bare steel Winner too. Do you have any kind of clearcoating on there?

I hope you don't mind mountainbikes in this thread!
http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/5439147/After years of crashing on dirt jumps i am now swapping the old Identiti frame and smaller bars for an NS Suburban and some Proofs so i can focus on park! (i know the photo is not ideal, but you get the idea)

yup, a few coats of clear stuff, I really like the basic look of unadorned metal. The next build will be a bit more colourful, tho. cheers.

My saddle! Wondered if you got it, hope you made that donation to a charity...
What frame is it anyway?

I was inspired by this front hub made by English Cycles for TTing to make a prototype rear tt wheel for training and when it's windy.
The idea is; the flanges are closer together, so the spokes are actually narrower than the width of the tyre (aprox 24mm between the flange centres), in theory dramatically reducing air turbulence from the spokes.Made this prototype hub at lunchtime yesterday. It started as a standard Shimano Tiagra rear cassette hub, that I had lying about. Basically I removed the the middle section, and joined the two edges together (very crudely and quickly, but apparently quite strongly) with carbon fibre. I will neaten it up and put another layer of carbon over the top for aesthetics next.
Will hopefully get it built up, probably with a velocity Deep V, and tested by next weekend. If it works, I'll make a proper version on the lathe, or possibly carbon.
Sorry for the poor photos, only had my cheapo point+shoot at the yard.

Good luck with that. It's actually much better to use fewer spokes with a wide bracing angle rather than what will presumably be 32 spokes with that negligible bracing angle. Placing the spokes closer together makes almost no aerodynamic difference, since the pressure reduction that far behind the leading edge of the rim is very small, and the reduction in wheel stiffness is large.

Peugeot frame from the early 50's. It was never been used or even painted.
It took more time than I expected but now it's finished. -

Stunning, the TA crank is the perfect finishing touch.

I think I'd put another link in the chain, might as well enjoy the available length for comfort and stability.

the photography is also good =))

My word, isn't that lovely.

Titan stem/bar from Tour De Ville, cost something like £45 I think.
they're rare so you won't find the same bar again with the gold centre, but you can just get some riser with sweep, chop it a bit and flip it upside down if it's your thing.

latest find, this one is going to be easier than the last few,
again, remove basket and advert, but it already has fixed hub and brooks saddle,
just gonna get a njs nitto stem and bars and she will be done -

Awesome.... I've just come over all moist.

@Tomi: Thats lovely! How did you do the strips on the seattube? I'm doing some big classic white ones on my next build, was going to spray the bike up, then before the laquer, mask (with masking tape) and spray on top, then laquer...
Do you have any better tips?
MonstaI used clear waterslide decal paper. Maybe you could simply use plain white decal paper and just cut the stripes out.
Change the forks, and it'll improve massively
