So me and Per over at DAMP have been talking about a new frame for me and last night we got it together.
This is for all you nerds. Seat-tube and head-tube angle will be the same as on the classic Cannondale track frame, 62 c-c seat-tube and 60 c-c top-tube.
It will also have a slight downslope on the top-tube and a custom rear-bridge. Chrome fork and rear triangle.
It will most likely be built up with full campa group.
Can´t wait, but it will probably take a while for it to show up, but that means more time to get all the components... -

If the spoke directly above the '3' on the rim is spoke number 1 counting back from that, spoke No.8 looks well wavy (and so doe the one above it tbf), surely it shouldn't be like that?
Looks like it's laced but not tensioned yet.

Exactly.
CasaSteve. You should go around the wheel squeezing parallel spokes(same flange but opposite sides of hub) together to help set them. Do this several times in between the odd tru and tension.

So they made it with 2 tubes there in order to make it more stiff? or?

no, its a gimmick. The titanium version has the same tube dimensions and is a
wet noodle. -
• #35035
As I'm guessing the carbon version would also be?
-
• #35036
Its for lateral stiffness combined with vertical compliance.

An ALAN is always a bit poor in performance, but it's lovely.

Yeah, I'm a third year human geography student. Was yours the silver charge plug?
-
• #35041
Nah, the plug is one of the drapers staff's i think. Mine's the blue de-stickered dolan with black bits, was on the stand with the motorbikes though. I'm 3rd year aerospace.

• #35042
Didn't see yours, I was too busy trying to get inside while it was raining. There was a white raleigh conversion next to mine which is my house mates as well. A few of my geography friends ride fixed bikes as well but not that much.

Thanks for the comments/reassurance about the wheel. It's not tensioned yet, so some of the spokes are a bit wavey (hoping they'll sort them selves out). The photo wasn't very good to be fair :)
I got a dissaproving look when I told my LBS what spokes I'd used. He seems to think I'll have problems, but he can STFU as far as I'm concerned ;) Just because I didn't buy them from him, I'm sure. (He's a DT DB kind of a guy).

• #35044
It will also have a slight downslope on the top-tube
Why?

Apologies if you've already told us, but what spokes are you using?

because he make bikes?
-
• #35048
Cause this one is sort of payment for alot of jobs I have done fore them.
Sure I´d love a Cannondale too ;) -

I see :-)
