Cut steerer, use a rise stem.
What cranks are they?
-
• #33254
Shut up Max. Rise stems are for dickheads.
-
• #33255
And they are Miche cranks.

It just looks like it's copying a quill stem, the way it is. Doesn't make sense!
And they are Miche cranks.
Thought as much.
KC, get some modern Campy Record Pista.

You might want to rotate your bars down a fair amount. They look really painful on the wrists at that angle. (Or it might be the angle of the photo)
my first build finally DONE!
Any suggestion for front light?
Also trying to find alternative way to carry the lock, kinda looks ugly that way (I'm a girl.. sorry!) -

the Miche cranks are perfectly adequate for track use.
Campy Pista's or over priced tosh, and not very good for track, as the arms have a tendency to snap off under high power output.... (only really a problem for the big sprinters*)I have ridden both on the track, and couldn't tell you any noticeable difference, as long as you have a decent chain ring on the Miche..... just my opinion though.
*lazy people.

Yeah thought they wouldn't be much different, they'd just look better and KC can afford them!

Thanks for the tip,
I actually lower the bars down little after the photo
Gonna have to give few days of light riding around the area to adjust positions of the saddle, seat post, bars... etcYou might want to rotate your bars down a fair amount. They look really painful on the wrists at that angle. (Or it might be the angle of the photo)

@hoops agree the miche are great for track use
@nuno had to change it the Durace cranks and wheelset are going on my incoming frame.
@ Max I know it makes sence to chop the stem but it looks shit. -

Yep Planet X was more like a TT than a track frame,so I sold it one of the Guys that works at the velodrome, just got two more frames at the coaters than thats it for me for a while.

I've posted this in here before, but it's an ongoing project so I'm posting it again. It's my 1950s Pennine.
That's quite stunning. Lovely job.

Ok this is my "pink" visp from the previous page:
Still needs a lot of work on the frame to make it really shine.

This is f king awesome!
I've posted this in here before, but it's an ongoing project so I'm posting it again. It's my 1950s Pennine. I bought it as a wreck last summer off a guy who'd bought it seondhand in 1964 and have been slowly restoring it. The latest small projects have been to revive the original 27" wheels, replace the beautiful but impractical cottered cranks, replace the original Lycett Swallow saddle with something more comfortable, and to get some period pedals. So, it now has a Lycett L'Avenir saddle, Stronglight 49D cranks, Lyotard Marcel Berthet pedals, and the original Milremo alloy rear rim and a replacement Weinmann front on the original British Hub Co. Eureka! hubs. I also had a craft half hour and retouched the paint on the stem. I've ridden it into work a couple of times this week and it's been a joy.
I got lots of bits off people on the forum, so I should mention them: Mr.C (chainring), Whizzer (pedals), Cipolinni (saddle), Dr.Sludge (Paselas). John of Ganesh Bicycles rebuilt the wheels and unearthed a suitable 32 hole rim for me.
Now the plan is to gear it up again with Campagnolo Gran Sport...

I think the lock looks fine just where it is. They are heavy fuckers and its probably the best most convenient place for it to go. There is something about utility that is hot. (Ask scoble if you dont believe me). Paint the yellow, white, brown or black to go with the rest of the bike.

Mr Walrus, frame number 2 looks really good so far, nice work. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
