De-hipsterising my Fort...
Polishing a set of old Campagnolo Strada Cranks, swapping out the carbon fibre fork and aheadset for a Makino lugged fork and threaded headset/ quill stem, drops, Jaguar seatpost and B43 x Level front + Deep V x Level rear, all silver groupset and having the frame and fork powdercoated anthracite/ gunmetal with a sparkle lacquer... Cannot wait!
Brooks B17 Green, chopped and mangled and some clear grips on the drops also...

That "Pinarello" could be a Batavus, like the one used by the Batavus amateur team and the Dutch national team.
The picture below is a small one. -

I know there has been a lot said about Foffa bikes and there is a complete thread dedicated to it and I don’t want this to be an extension of it but by pure chance I got talking to Dani thorough a mutual friend we had a long chat, and Dani came to Manchester with his pr man and we had a really good few hours, we even had time to get some track time, these are two genuine Guys and before they went they gave me a frame set and said do what you want with it I know they are going to change the headsets and the chain sets on there own builds I have taken it for a test ride and it does ride quite nice feels no different to a Bianchi Pista ,I did comment for 150 more you could get a BJ frame and this is true, but I must say the paint and finish on this frame is very good.
By the way Dani has no idea what I have done with his frame and I have nothing to gain by this thread anyway here is my effort.
The clearance are quite tight on the back I will be putting a bigger chain ring on for a track test.

it is true, but like the old saying, the grass is always greener on the other side.

Fair point... Comparatively speaking it's a serious increase in class and decrease in hip... In my defence I already had the rims bought about 18 months ago and I don't want to spend money on more rims... Another Deep V might be a little nicer though but I'm just not bothered swapping it unless I can get someone here in Dublin to actually hand me a Deep V in exchange for the B43... I do like a deeper rim on the front though I must admit...
-
• #30269
... Just need to replace the tatty Rolls ...
If it's still rideable I'll take it off your hands...
-
• #30270
Because I wanted the rims to be a pair, I assumed they would be...they're not but they'll do.

Sorry Dad.

I'm going to pick up this frame - and a Concorde LoPro as well - later this month.. if all goes well.
Now, the Concorde is easy to identify.. But that Pinarello has me puzzled.. I have been searching and searching for info on what year and what tubing it might be.. Not even sure it's a real Pinarello. I was thinking it looked like a repaint, but it seems Pinarello actually was using frames painted all in one color with no chrome details sometimes in the 80's.. And I suspect this is a late 80's design.
Anyone seen a frame like this before? Notice details like the shifter brace-on that seems to be mounted on the top of the downtube instead of the side, with a small hole for internal cable routing.. aerodynamics? :)
Since I already own a (heavy) Mavic Challenger disc and a (light) Mavic 3G front it does look like the perfect excuse to start collecting Mavic-components.. doesn't it ;)
