Lord Jesus thrown from a ferris wheel, that is one hot mega-whip.
Suitably uncompromising with just a whiff of tart. Exemplary effort James.

Nearly there with the big swap over. Was going to replace the frame with another kaffenback but after they didn't have any in my size I figured I'd find an old frame to recycle (thanks Hillary). Needs the brakes & gears tweaking but other than that it's a bingo. Then back to sorting out the Kebab Shopper.
and yeah - James's bike is pretty skippy.

+1 thats what i'm planning. Although my frame is not a classic. Rear half early 90s cougar frame, front half cheap deda tubing fillet brazed by a lazy polish mechanic.
I had a quick look through the catalogue at work and it didn't make it clear whether the whole centaur groupset is still being made in alloy.
Cranks yes, but i'm not sure about derailleurs/levers etc.

Fatbirds are showing stock of full alloy groupsets http://www.fatbirds.co.uk/detail.asp/sku=CSN_Alloycentar you might want to grab one while they're still available because the alloy levers and rear dérailleur seem to have been dropped for 2010

Brifters?
Is this for fucking real? -

Brifters?
It is an offensive Americanism, but nobody has come up with a satisfactory alternative. It is strange that they felt the need to create this contracted compound noun, when they are usually happy to use far longer words than us for common items, e.g. automobile|car and elevator|lift

I'm toying with the idea of replacing my chorus groupset on the Colnago for the 2009 Centaur.

The Athena groupset is about the same price as Centaur, comes in an alloy version an goes all the way up to 11.

But it has carbon brake levers and a carbon dérailleur outer link; the rationale for Centaur on an older frame is all about the aesthetic of all-silver components.

I thought Chorus was higher than Centaur...and surely the BJ's groupset is already silver?

I'm pretty sure that modern Centaur would perform better than 80's Chorus, or am I living up to my nickname again?
It's hipsters who come up with stupid inane shit like this!
