Shorter stem looks more manageable, but LA84s really aren't supposed to be used in that position. If you need the drop, try something else. If you need the reach, try cut LA84s with a long stem.

Should be out riding this weekend, but chain and lockring are stuck in the post somewhere. Thank you Mr Wiggle!
