As I'm grounded today, I fixed this thing up as well. Need to remove that freewheel, though.
Moser bars are on a loan in Kiev (Scotch has a bike show to charm)
I don't think the gears will be ready any time soon. Now I have nothing to do. Must buy new frame.

I don't like you, East End Images.
My jealousy has finally got the better of me.

You should've stayed quiet. I told you, that the frame feels tad tall, so there's always a chance... Now you blew it! :-p

That simoncini is so nice!

This bike deserves a nice C-record groupset.. To ride it like this would be an utter shame

heehee, you make your london route sound really rather exotic! i like. :)
I call it "Mesopotamia" because it is literally between the rivers, south bank of the Jubilee River to Maidenhead, north bank of the Thames back to Eton.

I've sold the 8 speed CR groupset, because of the confusion with the rear hub :-) It's supposed to be 9 speed. I gathered the bits. Hub arrived and it was 16h 8 speed one. Good rid of the 9 speed stuff. Started looking for 8 speed again.
I have Croce d'Aune cranks, Chorus front and now rear, Chorus seatpost and pedals, Delta brakes, C-Rec shifters (have to pick them up from Hutch). And those brake levers I have from you which cleaned up really really nicely.
Once the bullhorns are back from the loan to Scortch and the rear wheel rebuild (or perhaps I get a road version from Colnago_Costa) I will put everything together and eventually upgrade to one uniformed groupset (Croce d"Aune/C-Record) while I go along.
I'd love to have Khamsin discs on it, but I'm bit afraid, that it would render it unusable on the road - it's not like I'm going to race anybody apart from nodders (whink)

Yep, fun. 53/16 with a freewheel. I need to check the traffic info on my iPhone, so I have enough space to stop before the lights :-)
Risers were cut to ca. 40cm and there's not enough space for two chunky Goldfinger levers. And I have only front brake. I can't fit Deltas, because I don't own that magic 3.5mm allen key and can't tighten the cable much.
No, seriously, It's not road safe at all. Took if for a spin around the cemetery and decided to hang it up on the wall before I find the suitable tool (dumb me ordered the wrong freewheel too as there was no description on the website).

...bars...blah...Kiev...Scotch...blah
hahaha i wish i was!
anyway, what's this conception about freewheel+front brake only not being road-safe? i have only front disc on my 29er and weighing in at 220 pounds i find it absolutely sufficient -
• #28913
I meant Scorch. I t was probably a freudian slip.
As for the brake, perhaps it depends on the quality of the brake itself and the gear ratio? Mine isn't so eager to stop at full speed.
-
• #28914
lol, i guess you're right, mine is only 38:18 on an MTB :))
anyway, ride safe then! :)) -

O M G...That Simoncini frame!

kris i can't help but notice that your simoncini has taken up hoboism.

You should put a stop to this before it gets too unruly.

It's just... still not Hackneyed enough. I think it needs a splash of colour. Or a spoke. Yes, a spoke!
