My first real project has just been conceived. Custom built Ti commuter / winter trainer. Is going to have a double butted front triangle, with ovalised down tube for stiffness, single butted rear triangle, relatively relaxed geometry (72.5 seat, 73 head) and an 80mm saddle to bar drop, provision for mudguards and a rear brake, 120 rear spacing with track ends. Brushed finish (obviously).
I'll get the drawings on Monday for final sign-off. Now need to start thinking about the wheels and build.
Sounds good. Who are you getting to build it for you?

Personal preference, just don't like them, think they look silly. As a pair I can understand, but one full lever and one dummy... looks a bit wonky.
But it's your bike and I'm sure it will look great however you build it up!
Yeah I do know what you mean, the little dangly thing is ugly, I don't really know why it's there. I didn't want one of those things that combines cables from two levers on one brak, but I wanted two hoods. I'll obscure it in any photos ... except it might be going on the DS ... eek.
talking of photos, what's up with that one a few pages back, with the fancy stereo in the bg, the photo makes it look like it's a 1/10th cale model replica! Damn, Airfix should do some classic bikes, that would be great! Someone's going to tell me they already exist now ...
Here's Jagermeister's 'toy' Wilson, lovely ...

Look like a faux tilt shift effect, by 'blurring' (in photoshop) the fore and background, but leaving the subject in focus, it create an effect that look like the subject is a miniature as if it were taken with a macro lens.

Yeah I figured it's done with lens / and or potatoshop.
When I said 'What's with...' I meant WHY? Arty photo of bike: fail.

Ah yes I do agree, didn't like the effect on that photo, most specifically when there's no reason.

That's it... tilt shift. Was sitting here racking my brains for the word.
It looks shit on that photo, mainly because it's been done poorly...

There's a site full of these pics somewhere. Very cool effect if done right.
ED: found it.

Is that the iPhone app?
A dude who worked in the Rapha store on Clerkenwell asked me if he could take a photo of my bike to put on the website. He used this application.

It's like rolling a turd in glitter...
If you get this sorted (size etc), I recomend at some point you strip it down, add some nobbly tyres, and take it for a blast on some trails. Riding a cross bike with fat tyres and drops off-road, is bloody good fun.
At the very least, its nice to know you have the means, should the opertunity arise.
