And a general project: looking for a decent SKS track pump ;-)
You bastard, you've cursed my track pump. Now it's broken, and I've had to order an SKS Rennkompressor

In another thread CrazyJames says:
... The whole point of powergrips/Jol's straps is that you need a wide platform pedal to make best use of them, since by spreading the load over a wider area across your foot/the pedal, this increases the amount of leverage you have ...
So that would count for Hold Fast (and these) as well? Or is the platform/leverage argument mostly valid for the 'twist your foot' type retention (powergrips etc)?

Somebody should make some 42h hubs and rims, they'd sell loads to Hitchhiker fans.

Stealth bike nearing completion:
Still haven't decided on the rims, so using an old wheelset. Stem is temporary while I'm trying out different stem/handlebar combinations to find a comfortable riding position; will be replaced with Thomson of the correct length. Silver brake calliper will also be swapped out for a black one.
Took it out for a lap of the park yesterday - it's scarily fast :-S

So this is the track I bought off the forum a couple of months ago.
It had been duluxed by the previous owner.
Got a couple of days off finally so stripping it and going to rattle-can spray it as
the cheapest respray here in Tokyo I have found is about 160 quid.Anyway stripping and sanding is a slooowww process.

I love a good stealth bike, with the changes you've mentioned it's gonna look stealthtastic!
You gonna go with black rims eventually? I think the white gives a nice contrast.

Being that a 20 odd year old (?!) frame, don't forget to apply some primer ; )

Definitely black rims, just not decided between deep V section, or box section.
I take a long time to make my mind up.
Handlebars most likely being changed to Profile Airwings, as those track drops are too narrow and deep (36cm Nitto 123s I think). -

On a low pro, pursuit bars are probably a better idea. You'd need a shorter stem though (as a guess). I ride a 100-110mm stem with drops and an 80mm with bullhorns.
Looking good, Matt. The saddle looks pretty far back, comfy?
I recommend some non machined black v section rims, like Campagnolo Omegas or whatever they're called. I've got some but they're Mavic CXP 12's and I don't think you can get them in black.
BB ok?

Profile Airwings are awesome. I am loving mine. Buy some.
New french project.
Simular wheels will go on but with clincherrims and low flange dura ace hubs.
And yes, the seatpost will be pushed down before I ride it... oh yah, there will be a saddle on it too.
