  • And who's the frame by? I would image that you know, and it's someone legendary...

I'm actually not 100% at the minute. I'm hoping it's a Selbach. The forks are a Selbach style design. It's definitely 30's. Mostly original parts. I have the period stuff to replace that which is not. I'm going to have it nickel plated, with possibly a colour over the top.
It's about 3" to small for me, but I will endure pain for it. It's a very beautiful thing.

  • You would be quite correct in your assumption Benjamin. This is photographic evidence of the bicycle's condition on the very day I purchased her.

    riiiiiight....

  • ...definitely 30's...

you guys are lucky, we get our 70-ies frames in that condition...

  • A spider made it.

Bravo. What I meant was "what's the story behind finding the bike?"

  • Bravo. What I meant was "what's the story behind finding the bike?"

Well I say found...I bought it from an old friend. He was selling one or two interesting parts. I bought it with the intention of selling it on, but I've since fallen for it. And so now I'm going to sympathetically restore it. The blue is non original and some of the tubing has surface rust, so the frame needs doing. The essential Chater bb and head clip are there. I've got a Brooks Sprinter saddle to go on, plus some Lauterwasser or some old 30's track bars.
Everything else just wants a bit of spit and polish. I've never seen these type of pedals before. Stamped Stainless Steel on the cages, with a Pat number and Made In England on the alloy barrels. In great nick too.

  • Good find. Looking forward to seeing that redone.

    Cheers.

  • w w w w wishbone

    that is so nice!

  • that is so nice!

It is. And the first clamp on rear brake I've ever seen.

  • I'd heard that Peter Parker had mad brazing skillz

  • Stop fucking about Ed

  • ^^ i generally like the idea of that adjustable stem, but isn't it a little less rigid and looks a little like dildo on the front?..

  • I beg to differ.

Buy a stem that fits you on the bike. Adjustable stems are just stoopid.

  • haaa - ed nicked some street furniture.
Are you gonna put that on your rear rack?

  • That stem looks a mess

  • vagacini

  • I am sure Ed is Dr Who whats with all that random shite he has round his house.

  • Is that stem straight? bars look off...

  • Angle of the photo, the stem is still a lots nicer than the Nitto one originally.

    originally inspired by this;

  • still 'orrible

  • I kind of dig the adjustable stem. Would look better with a dildo bar. It'd be like some kind of dildo crucifix then.
