Be careful mate, those Italian shopper bike flex like crazy, especially on the cockpit (they're all the same regardless of what brand they are), so don't be put off by shopper bicycle in general if you rode that one and think how crap the ride is.
The one I brought and fixed up for my sister is the same model;
ED: What is that red thing? I like your rack.
it's actually orange, the afternoon sun and the filter I use made it look metallic and red, which look a lots better in photos!
it's an old dutch brand called locomolief before it merged with Gazelle back in the 70's, the previous owner though it would be a great idea to peel off the decal on the downtube and seat tube annoyingly enough, it's hard enough trying to find out what decal it normally have, it's nothing special, but it's plenty reliable and decent for a geared bike.
The rack actually show how much a steel fork flex round corner as well as quill stem, it's an interesting observation to why carbon fork and ahead stem make a huge difference in ride quality.

Reminds me of the one I got as a prezzie for my first communion.

The Chesini frame is a long term slow project that I hope to be an all day racer, sportives etc.
That Chesini is an object of beauty.

That Zipp rim has seen its last ride though. [/IMHO]

I've never had an issue with stem flex on my Dynamic 7s and 8s.
Do you have a shot of the whole bicycle?

Almost done, waiting for the rear brake to show up. Had chain tension issue since I can't put the wheel further back on the drive side, I didn't have enough chain tension so I was advised to get a tensioner. Which I got from another forum member. I installed that last night, and it is now ridable. Though I can't go fixed, which is a little disappointing, though I'm still looking into solutions for this problem. I'm considering filling down the frame on the drive side to match the other side, which I think should work. Though I'm a little worried about messing up the frame.

File it out or drill and file it if you want it to match the other side. It'll be fine if you do it properly. Bike looks rad

you could try a ghost cog. they're kind of unusual (in that you don't see them too often) and they look cool.

I kinda like how much of ghetto bodge that is

I like it too, doubles as a ninja star for those close encounters!

Thanks - the plan is for 8-9 speed campag Athena/chorus/record so you will start to see wanted posts as i get the money scraped together.
I think the rim is completely buggered as well, I reckon I will have a challenge to find carbon 24 & 28 rims to replace, china calling maybe.
The hubs and spokes are primo though. -

Managed to get the EM finished at last.

You have certainly been true to the era with the colour scheme!

Velo Orange front rack and rims (front and back), was needed to replace the tubular rims it came with originally, the drivetrain is perfectly indexed to the point that I don't feel the need to upgrade the SImplex drivetrain to a Shimano or Campag one.
next thing to do - chrome VO mudguard hopefully, right now I'm on the fence about putting moustache bar on it or leave it.

...leave it. Looks sweet. What rims?

'Long distance' bike, edscoble? With a mahoosive front rack like that?
I'm just going to keep doing this 'till it's ready:
Saw the feather bikes in TF in soho, they look pretty tasty. Shame they're putting the very fine-lettering vinyls over the laquer though, I thought, seem like they're going to get scratched off pretty quick.

i always thought that the ghost cog would be a good solution for polo players to get to the court since you could have a massive difference between 2 cogs on your wheel and let the ghost cog take up the slack.

Those first few were powder coated. He's now moved over to wet paint with vinyl/painted letters under clear.

Cheers max.I went for the seat post for the look more than anything.

I've seen the red bike in the flesh and it's got no paint, the rims are made of Bovril and it's got white tyres. But that's a good Photoshop job!

I handed this over to my friend at the weekend. It's a 1981 Carlton Courette. The respray was by Mario Vaz. The final recipient was well pleased with it.
Wait till you see my Spec Epic Pro!
