  • I bet that's going to be a rapid bike!

  • @nuknow: what are you hanging the frames off? chopper bars? how have you mounted those onto the wall?

  • couldn't see the mounting screws. very nice.

  • Thanks for the comments Pistanator and Arantrek. I had it in my head to be patient and wait for all nice bits to come for this, but I'm now scrabbling about in the parts box to get it out for a quick roll before the sun goes in!

  • Gah. Just managed to find enough bits! Bits I'll be swapping out are the bars, stem, cranks and pedals and brake and lever but for the moment I'm really pleased. Wanted a bike like this for ages. Super fast!

  • would like to see the Rourke in its full glory.

It has the Dean Ti seatpost and Cinelli Grammo from back in the day now, but otherwise this is it

  • My new shopping/errands bike, was hoping to have this ready for the Tweed Run, but need to get my hands on a 120mm OLN S3X hub as I can't re-space the 130mm OLN one I have. May just have to ride it single fixed gear on the day.

  • Almost ready for summer. I'm still waiting for the saddle and pedals.
Thanks to Retro Di Corsa for adjusting the gears and the rack.

Proper picture without messy cables and kids bits once is ready (Readers' Wives)

  • heh, a shitty little Dawes shopper, an old Holdsworth that need a new headtube, and a recently purchased old road bike from the 70's.

No, it's worn to the point that the headset can't fit in snugly anymore, right now it have a shim in it, until I can afford to get it repaired at Mercian.

bit annoying, especially when it need new lugs.

85 Quid, suppose it's just about worth it.

  • Don't forget the cost for a hand-cut lugs to match the original thought.

  • ...to match the original thought.

And a general project: looking for a decent SKS track pump ;-)

The Specialized doesn't have the "cool" factor of of a European manufacturer, but it has given trouble free, efficient and comfortable service for about 15 years so far and still looks as good as new. Probably not a priority to replace it.

    +1 Specialised pumps are noice.
The Lezyne ones are good too. The sort of pump you can have on display in the living room rather than hiding in the cupboard.

  • Just plain awesome
