They're not. You're just late.

As you might be able to tell, I ran out of money half way through, the upshot of it is that it cost me relatively little - about £180 in total.
How much would you estimate it to be worth as a complete bike?
It's worth fiddy dorra, so about £38.
Seriously.Kidding. -

It's the name on my toilet, that might explain something.

PS
You may think the saddle 'is not a brooks' because it doesn't look like any of their current patterns. It alone is worth about £38. It's a Colt (an old Brooks pattern no longer in prod.) ... they're really nice saddles. -

Not really ripped off.....
I didn't know it's value and nor did he. He's not really a cyclist and it was either gonna be a gift or the price of a pint or two....
Better I got a serious amount of use out of it instead of sitting in a cupboard.

I think Brooks should do the Colt again. They really should.

I concur. I reckon Brooks are trying to hold onto their vintage image, the Colt is quite modern looking and almost looks like those padded saddles with rivets you can get.
That might be why it's not made anymore.

I was only joking when i said you ripped him off :)

I doubt this. It hardly looks modern, though I know what you mean.
I think it's more likely that it was just one too many patterns. They had new ownership a few years ago who presumably had to make some decisions about which saddles to keep going on with. Maybe this one was too niche. I think the old tourers and long distance riders preferred them, they have lots more leather around the skirts and completely cover the front wishbone/bolt assembly.

He suffered from cancer shortly afterwards so a fat of good it would have done him anyway, he spent all his time lying in bed. Lazy twat.

I got some stick at my LBS when I said i was doing a long tour on it. They thought I was trying too hard to be masculine by sitting on a hunk of leather when modern alternatives are available.
Aesthetics aside I think leather saddles make for a really good ride, now that it's properly worn in I feel like it was tailor made for my arse.

Looks nice, but I'd swap the lights for some bartape, dark brown or black.

Yeah, I reckon dark brown if I can get a colour which matches the saddle. I've just maxed out my student overdraft and am living on the frozen stuff left in the fridge - potato waffes and spinach for lunch. So no bar tape untill student loan time (only 3 weeks to go..)

White Fizik FTW.

You have enough frozen stuff to last you 3 weeks?!

I have enough frozen stuff to last me until tomorrow. I'll start worrying about it then..
