  • P.S. You seem to have not got the memo that 2010 is the year of the gears. :P

im foreign, i live in the past.

i don't know what the current hipster trends are.

  • 59.5st?!?!?!? that's about 300kg in maxcrowe units

    :D

crowd of screaming fans just out of shot.....

    haha!

Well thankfully I am here to tell you.
But you are doing pretty good. Raw steel frame and NJS. Justs needs gears and comfy bars.

  • 9 or 10/11 gears?
I went for 9, because it's more niche. And 8 on the Pinarello, because it's radical and obsolete.
Thinking about it... shoot! I have no fixed gear bike since my Grubb has a coaster brake!
    Need some NJS frame quick.

  • What size are you, Kris? 56? 57?

  • Something like that - most comfortable on 56x57(8)

  • Will keep an eye out for ya. Not an eBay regular but I spend too much of my life on here so you never know.

  • I've actually sold the Nitto B123 bars yesterday to prevent myself from owning another bicycle, but it's not going to last long. I don't even know why should I own a track frame, but I'm toying with the idea of building a NJS bike at some point - I haven't used anything Shimano since 1998 :-)

Maybe because I will leave 5 mins away from our future olympic velodrome?

I think they will let people ride there with none njs certified bikes too

  • I think they will let people ride there with none njs certified bikes too

But those won't go as fast, right?

I might have something for ya, Kris San.
    Will let you know.

    I'm being sarcastic.
Nah, it's more about using different components and frames for change and see if there is... I don't know. Probably if there is the same hole in the pocket left.

  • But those won't go as fast, right?

yes, they are actually banned in all track events across europe because of the unfair advantage.

  • Looks awesome Ed. Hoping to see it some time.

    Where's the wee Bob?

Wee bob is in hybrid nodded commuting mode.

  • I'm being sarcastic.

    right back atcha

  • touche

  • @ delgado. Kois bike. look at the fork offset though. Thats quite a low trail set-up htere, so a long stem would be very over-steery without a bar bag to dampen things down. And I dont agree with the fist length of seatpost. thats one of them old blokes tales. My Bob Jackson is 24" and im Kois hright. My French randonneur is23" and it feels cramped for me.
I guess it depends what your used to. Wither way its a nice bike, when it gets some braking.

  • can someone tell me what an NJS is? And Eddie, come ride your fixie up here in the North York Moors. We have some nice long 33% hills for you, and a particularly nice 42%er. I'll have the camcorder ready. My fixie also lives in the past. 1900.

  • can someone tell me what an NJS is?

    Nihon Jitensha Shinkōkai

  • 'Our own' NJSer

    sure no worries.

just choose the ones with no junctions

  • @eddie. Are hairpin bends ok, cos we got lots of them!
Oh, and our local filth give out £30 fixed penalties for unbraked fixies. Just so's you know!

  • They've got to stop you first...

    ofcourse its unbroken, its fixed.
if itd be broken it won't be fixed, or something like that.

so are you saying even though i bought the most expensive and light-weight "invisible titanium/carbon weave" brakes available on the market i get charged another £30 on top every time i get stopped by the po-po?
