Got my hands on this Basso frame pretty cheap.
I will build it up as kind of a shopping/bar bike.
Something that I wont have to be worried about locking outside fo a while.
Will mostly use old parts I have lying around.
Riser and another setpost/saddle and front wheel will go on. -

@ borntoolate,
Did I guess the location of your second video correctly?

Annoying for poseurs, but they would probably fall apart pretty quickly if you wore them for more than the 20 yard trip from the team bus to the podium - the uppers are designed to be fitted to a super stiff carbon sole, not a flexy strip of rubber, so they would probably crack from the flexing in the region level with the front strap.
that doesn't stop me wanting a pair

currently set up for long-distance training
i dont necessarily dislike this, but it is far from how you normally see a nag. infact i actually quite like is minus the colour of the tyres. it clearly is set up like that for a purpose. good job eddie

Those omniums were a bit pricey then? :P
ha they were a good price, but a bit more than i should be spending on bike bits at the moment.

yeah course you did frink. so i guess youre from up here then? I live 100mtrs from the start of the vid, but also in canary wharf.
When i say #in' canary wharf I mean 'in' , on a boat.
Yeah I'm at university at the moment but I rent a house with girlfriend + housemates in York (she's at york uni) so I'm there most weekends and all summer. I ride along the transpennine trail between York and Selby all the time, it's one of my favourite relaxing routes around there. So if you see someone on a white and red raleigh with brooks tape and saddle, it's probably me!

cheers,
its not a looker by far, just functional and comfortable to my own set up.
Its just tons of fun and thats all that matters. You can ride all day and just enjoy being outside. None of that freewheel nonsense. Once it gets up to speed you can only go faster cause it becomes virtually impossible to stop.It just eats miles, in the last few days ive ended up in places ive never even seen on my map.

@Frink, our place is the old railway station at Naburn, that we run as a cyclists cafe on sunny weekends. Look for the Moulton in the window! Kettle's usually on.
You been to BikeRescue? I started that off 4 years ago, and only left recently. hope to see you around before i move to the smoke permanently. -

New project, truativ omniums on their way and it will be track ready, apart from a chain, then want some proper track bars and a stem and the possibly a mike burrows/use aero post, and then some ultegra pedals.
Is your bike being punished for something? Or you are Marquise De Sade.

thats my
cellarbike storage vault.its awesomely big, the only problem is that i have to take both wheels off to get bikes down there and its only just tall enough for em to stand up in.

New bicycle is coming, right now I've just started saving up for one of those;
I'll estimate it'll take approx 2 years to save up for it.
how's that for 'current' project?
don't bother ed, the rohloff MKII has been expected any day now for about 3 years! save your money up but don't spend it on that just yet

general showboating.
No, highly specific showboating.

just called Robin Mather to ask where he has got to with his frame, he is waiting for the shot blaster - the air compressor arrived yesterday so he needs to build the box for shot blasting
call was interrupted as a TNT lorry was pulling up his drive, it was the shot balster itself arriving, it looks like a mad box of mechano, plus it has big thick rubber gloves that go up to the shoulders
this week he hopes to add brake bridge and bosses to his frame before shot blasting
nothing wrong with the alfine, that's a consideration (and the alfine are great), it will take me a long time to save up either way, so plenty of time to decided.
having ridden my father's road bicycle, and my old Globe bike that have 24 speeds, I find the huge range of gearing to be immensely useful.
