get a longer stem, that saddle deserves to be in the right place.

  • I got my frame back from Armourtex yesterday, and it looks fabulous. Will snap some pictures tonight, still waiting for the crank set to turn up. flowmont's previous post prompted me to post, that skyblue is exactly what I went for too.

  • weeee

  • Fancy stealth aero helmet you have there to match the frame.

  • very nice tom. very very nice. shoguning a ride on it tomorrow if u have a chain!

  • This is my mercian at current (again). Still looking to upgrade the BB/chainset when I have some more money.
edit- the angle of the bars looks really wierd, must be the angle of the photo.

  • heh... hadn't thought of that... it might get a bit steamy in there but i may just try it!

  • the bars did feel a little strange the other day man, sure they're not angled down a little. lovely by the way. how are those straps working for you?

  • Stem is fine, saddle does need to go back. Quivering to get it built and out on it earlier in the sun, hasty-ness is unforgivable.

  • Cheers for telling me at the time...
They don't hold for skids but they're better than nothing. Think I might get some BLB double cages and straps come next paycheck.

taking it to get built tonight - only have a 17t sprocket handy though, think my 14t is on the singular in london, you got anything smaller than a 17?

  • This^ 853 fillet brazed, semi-compact (effective 58, 4cm drop), semi-sloping wide fork crown to road blades,

stainless steel ends^ and brazeons... for largeish tyres and MG's. Roll on, May.

  • Sitting at home and working on Pinarello to resuscitate those puppies.

  • Pretty much finished now.

really nice! would be better with a lower profile lever though? paul?

  • Yep, for a photo, but they are good levers regardless.

  • Looks awesome tilover, going to start building the wheels for my Planet X tomorrow :)

  • Well done for snagging one the orange ones. This year's paint is shit.

  • Well done for snagging one the orange ones. This year's paint is shit.

    That's why I got it :-)

it's the 2009 so proper 1 1/8th with integrated headset like the 2010 but with better paint, not like the earlier 1" steer with regular headset jobs.

Now I just need to find something to do with it.

  • is replacing the Planet X... or just another pony in the stable?

  • not like the earlier 1" steer with regular headset jobs.

I like the older one; I can use a Chris King headset and the skinny steerer is more aero, innit?

  • Friend has asked me to paint his BMX for him. Only a rattle can job, but it's taken all day to finish the first half...
Here's the initial idea for the paint scheme:

Having spent ages priming, wet-sanding, and cutting 5mm squares in masking tape with a razor blade:

Here's the progress at the end of day one:

    Finished topcoating today.

Need to apply the graphics and clearcoat it all now. Pretty pleased with how it's coming together :)
