A panto'd stem is on the way but some of you will be dissapointed that it's also black...
Black looks really good in that composition, that's a really classy bike, congratulation to you wife!

Finished the Mercier last week, the decals arrived on thursday, and I tried to take some "nice" pictures yesterday in the sun... I am very happy with it!
Looks amazing. Well done, Loic! Hope to see it later at South's?
Looks like someone beat me to it, but here's the new bike - birthday present from the wife.
Marvellous. It was me that posted it in Bike Porn, sorry Dwayne!

And the idea was to make it (kind of) look as per Raymond Poulidor's track bike:

You did it, Loic! Nice one.

3Rensho Katana, likely built by Makino - not sure of the year yet.
Parts were just swapped from the Stratton. Still experimenting with the saddle.

Below is the vintage look I was going for.
It's a beauty Dwayne. I'm just joking about the stem, as I think you know.
You must be due a clear out soon, no?
-

I know you're kidding!
A clearout is eminent since the adolescent dream bike has arrived.
There may be Shamals in your future.

Dwayne,
this is a really beautiful 3rensho bike. -

Lovely 3Rensho and awesome red colour!
Here is Ed's old BJ, now mine :) Thank you Ed and nice to meet you.
Got a Phil Wood wheelset and planning a full Japanese/American build. And yes, I know the spokes aren't straight - the wheel isn't fully laced yet!

@arantrek, though i have just bought a 90mm stem, let me know if you find anything a bit shorter...

Nice red bike dwayne. What you doing with the orange bike?
-
• #24312
The Stratton has been passed to a forum member.
I understand it's almost on the road.
-
• #24313
That explain why it's in an unusual HHSB build this morning on Waterloo Road.

planning a full Japanese/American build.
Very good choice. My Cannondale's gonna end up like this at some point when I replace the Campagnolo stuff (BB, cranks, headset) with DA.

did you get the job?
-
• #24316
Mine is pretty similar really, a mixture of reliable part, american hubs, japanese cranks, italian saddle etc.

Shit. Just realised I made a very stupid mistake. My new handlebars just arrived, Nitto RB-021s, (26mm) started fitting them onto my Langster Steel (25.4 clamp). Just got them into place and thought the fit was surprisingly tight, went to get some grease, and just realised they .6mm to big for my stem...What's my best course of action?
I must have thought my stem was 26mm and the bars were 25.4, I'd even bought a shim to make up the difference, only just realised I was thinking the wrong way round. Anything I can do? Will these bars go on the stem, or will they damage it?
-
• #24321
Inverse shim. Duh??!
-
• #24322
Inverse shim. Or change your stem. Or bars.
Sorry electrogrimey - not sure there's much that can be done. Clamp sizes are a complete pain. This has happened to many, including me.
Max - Behave.

• #24323
If you can fit the bars into the stem without bending too much shit out of shape they should be fine.
Never grease the bar/stem interface.
Good luck.

Bring back the old avatar Max. Mr. Headroom is no good.
