Yeah i think so. Don;t seem to be able to find them for sale. i will have to try offline and see whether any LBS's have got something knocking about.

The best looking stem are those custom-made one that look like a quill stem version, like some of the stem Robin Mather made.
obviously the downside is that they're exceedingly expensive.

What size do you need?
I may be able to get you one, 20% off on Saturday?

If you mean the old Pinarello matched with the Shamals it was here already and it was slammed. I'ma puppy killer and don't deserve it :-)
There's a 650c Shamal on eBay right now, so maybe I will match the set for the lo-pro and put Mavic MA2s on Pinarello.
:-(

Seriously what's wrong with that pinarello apart from the fact it's not geared?? Some of you are wet tissue.
-
• #24182
thats quite a big issue, and also i think it looks strange with lots of expensive bits that aren't meant to go together.
-
• #24183
I really want that pinarello frame. it is gorgeous.
EEI- definitely fix up the lo pro and put that provisional Campag record onto the Pinarello.
That is the right way to do things.
I guarantee you that when you try and ride the lo pro geared- you'll realise why people have given up with that frame design.

Lots? There's nothing expensive on it, apart from the wheelset. Like I said, I don't run a museum and like to ride this bike, because it's light, smooth and fast.
The only thing I'd change right now is the bars and I've found something more suitable already. -
• #24185
sorry eei, that sounded a lot more offensive than i meant it to, im sure its a nice bike but its like my bob jackson with carbon wheels, theres something jsut a bit wrong with it.
-
• #24186
Nah, I'm not offended at all.
I too always criticise bikes which are just wrong or don't feel right. I just can't keep the frame on the wall while waiting for the right components, because it so damn nice to ride - exactly my size, the bottom bracket and the headset are smooth like butter... -

^are you still boozing?
:P

If I was I'd tell them to piss off! :-)

ha!

That would have been my main criticism of it, the track bars make the brake levers look wonky. It deserves a proper chainset too, not that lashed up "single ring on the inner" thing.

• #24191
This one is a brand new Centaur I bought literally for peanuts. Gives me the perfect chainline at the moment, but sure looks gross.
I don't want to buy more worn out second hand bits which clutter my kitchen and that's why it will have to wait till the right one comes my way.
I will keep you updated. -

Silver Thomsons are discontinued?! Outrageous.
Yeah i think so. Don;t seem to be able to find them for sale. i will have to try offline and see whether any LBS's have got something knocking about.
Yep, can't find them anywhere. The only ones you can still get in silver are the sporty looking X2 & X4. I spent a long long time looking for a silver Thomson Elite.
One came up on eBay in my size and that was in Japan. eBay's probably your best bet. I tried every online bike shop to no avail.
