I used white spirit and a plastic ruler to get the writing off some cranks. Just kept rubbing with the ruler, took a while though. Also works well without the white spirit to get unwanted decals/stickers off frames.

stealth bike in the works
This is gonna be extreme. I'd go for black Open Pros though, not deep section rims. Low profile will be much classier, trust me.
Shame you couldn't stretch to black 75's... that would have been the icing on the cake.

Chainring I rather like. How did you get the writing off the crank arms? Gave it a half-hearted scratch with my thumbnail to no avail.
The writing came off my Miche cranks by being rubbed against by my foot.
But the easiest way to get it off aluminium parts is to make some sugar-sandpaper by dipping some masking tape in granulated sugar. The sugar is rough enough to remove the ink and soft enough to polish the aluminum to a shine as it goes. -

Nice. I had this in my Ebay watch list.

Yea, I was contemplating box section rims. Haven't decided, and too busy to do a mock up.
Might upgrade to Sug 75s later. Would also like to get the Bob on the road, so more willing to put the cash into that at the moment. -

Finished for now, change of bars, bb and cog and clips and straps at last
'S nice. Like.

take that sticker off, besides that it looks nice. i think you should let me have a go on that badboy, seeing as i'm one of the few who can fit on it.
Sure you can, might be a bit big though.
The sticker is a Roberto Ciclismo special so it's fine :)

Mavic Open Pro
H+ Son (ish)

Think I prefer the deep section rims
-
• #23963
The one with Open Pros is just an uglier bike, nothing to do with the rims.
-

DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!
umm yeah, well- deep. -
• #23965
I think deep sections look great on the affinity.

It's the same frame so if one is ugly and the other isn't, surely it has something to do with the rims?
-
• #23967
But, like, totally, deep section rims are *so *not trendy anymore!

I don't like either of them I just think Open Pros are cooler than Deep section whatever it is.

In that instance- the silver stem, seatpost and cranks don't help and neither does the brooks.
IMHO- you need to commit either way- Stealth or flamboyant.I prefer flamboyant to stealth.

I think we all know that, Henry, given the GH1 colour scheme ;)
Max, it's not about looking trendy, it's about aesthetics.
The Bob will definitely not have deep section rims.

get rid of that fucking sticker, you member.
fair play for supporting Roberto an' all...... but putting stickers on that frame is a crime against humanity.
sort it out fucktard.

Exactly Mattty, deeep alll thhhe waaay.

I think it would look ace with omega V's in silver, no?
yeah and a full vintage Shimano groupset.

Mattty, if it helps I always wished I'd put powdercoated pros on it. It had deep victims (With the easton ec90 aero fork and everything) but still preferred the look with the smaller profile rims. Plus it climbs beautifully (if that's your thing) best not to hinder that with hipster rims.
