  • I went to see a second hand Orbea track frame but bought a Patrick Sercu one instead. The paint isn't too good but I'm going to get it painted or powdercoated.
Temporary setup (with wheelset and chain from my moser puppykiller):

that bike doesn't need to be repainted. it's patina!! go over with polish and clean up chips with touch-up.

  • Recommend where to find some good pearlecent touch up paint dogs? and what polish you'd advice?

  • i just use car polish and go to my local hobby store for model paint.

  • It is easier to get pearlescent nail polish rather than humbrol.

  • I shall peruse boots and hobby stores on route home. My thanks to you both.

  • @ Whizz

I'd like to see pictures of your bike
Will send v.soon...hopefully finishing this w/e

I'm not doing the decals myself
    Sensible

I called up Brian Rourke and they supplied me with the headtube badge and the decals for the downtube for £9. I didn't want the full sticker set, like it originally had, because as Melon insinuated, it's overkill.
Same deal for me... down tube was all it took to fuck things up.

  • yay!

    new bars/stem/grips.

love it, cant wait to ride it on the way home tonight in the wet

just need some black bmx cranks and we're sorted

  • yay!

how the hell do you intend to stop on that thing.

SPD/flat pedals = foot retention = leg braking

  • by the power of god

  • SPD/flat pedals = foot retention = leg braking

didn't realize there were spds hiding in those pedals.
but thanks for the sarcastic mathematical breakdown. you must be a teacher or something.

  • Lack of punctuation does come across as sarcasm sometimes - unintended. Just being brief and to the point.
I spent four months as a teacher once, it was way too much like hard work.

  • yup, they are spds.... but in our group we do have one mentalist who rides with flats and he is very very fast and skidstops with ease. legs of steel!

  • This is really nice!

  • for the love of god! Straappp!

do you use straps now? sure you were a big proponent for flats not long ago?

  • This is really nice!

Yes I'm rather fond of those lovely mud-guards.

  • Ok....take one last look at this frame....already started stripping it.
It may take a while to complete due to lack of funds....but it's gonna be different..:)

And it will most definately be a marmite bike....you'll either love it or hate it.

  • i love it already :p

  • Scott is now incapable of discussing anything other than potential colour options.

  • Colour scheme chosen....;)

  • come on, it doesn't take that long to decide it should be black

  • The washing machine?

What a cool concept.. pimp my washing machine.

Anyone got a Mark IV frontal casing for the Fujitsu 2101? I'd like to get purple ano but will make do with the standard brushed aluminium.
