funnily enough, I chosen the touring rims because I know it would be strong enough to carry heavy load, especially the missus on the rear rack.
the original wheelset on the Globe Haul were pretty beefy, if those can hold, the Mavic should be plenty.
ok just piecing this together. haven't been around that much lately. Your globe was stolen?
bummer!
on another note, i was looking at bikes similar to that recently for a friend.

Looks nice, though it does look a bit weird with the brakes... :)
I have to admit that I do not like the look of trackbikes with brakes on them... But I do see the point of having them..
I think it looks OK, better then I expected. Still prefer the look of one single, small lever though.
Missed a paul e-lever with black brake calliper in classified section :(

I think i've got the 14 to the point where i'm gonna stop changing stuff (i hope!).
thanks to marcola for the bars, mult-grooves fro the 75's & Phil BB, and Clefty for the blackifying of my new forks.
i wanted to chuck a Thomson in-line on it, but the layback seems to be stuck, and i cant be arsed to get it out....need a new project now.
my track bike has been with out a suitable front end (shit fork, bad bars and stem) since september.... this has got me stoked to get it back rolling for the summer. nice ride man.

Do you people not recognise Armageddon?
This is the straw that broke the camel's back, this has provoked the otherwise lazy and fickle Gods to take notice, they are disgusted that so monstrous and blasphemous a nebulosity could be brought into being by the creatures they willfully created. The Earth shall be scorched by a furious fire that shalt scourge mankind from it's very existence. This *^thing^ *heralds the end of time. For fuck's sake run, you idiots, run. Scatter to the ends of the World and purchase hybrids and mountain bikes, obtain racing bikes and tourers, for the end is nigh...

if only it was louis's neck that was attached to the end of that brake cable
he'd soon realise it should be released just a little bit -

Some pictures of my new bike. I got Ted from 14/FGL to build it for me. It's made from Columbus Zona, fillet brazed. It's light but still strong, exactly what I wanted. Plan on using it around town and offroading too.

The Bob Holiness track bike has become a freewheel skidder to temporary replaced the missus' stolen pastel green town bike;
All we got left to do is fit shorter stem and a velo orange large front rack to carry stuff.
It's perhaps the smallest 700c track frame I've seen at 48.5cm and a top tube of 52cm, front clearance is pretty tight with massive toe overlap.

Hey,
Been meaning to put this up for a while. Got a Chesini frame off TDV a few months ago, and with some help from good mate retro_di_corsa got this built over new year. Then it snowed, then my back was fucked, blah blah. Anyway finally took it for a decent ride on Saturday and it's amazing!!!
The only real rule to the build was that everything should be good on this one, mismatched, whatever - but good.
highlights are:
- The frame
- Pista headset
- Some nice dura-ace bits
- Some nice Campy bits
- Bullet proof wheelset (goldtec on open pro)
- Cinelli and 3ttt combo
- Quality pedals, straps, tyres and grip tape
Crap pix, but hope you guys like it
I love the handmade feel of the carving on the head tube!
