  • Cheers dude, I pretty much threw it together with bits off my other frame to get it road worthy. I'm gonna get a black turbo eventually I reckon and a different chainring.

  • Hi I'm new to lfgss, ....blah....blah....blah...here are some photos of that as well.

Nice! Where did you get the Holdsworth sprayed?

  • Hi I'm new to lfgss, ....blah....blah....blah...here are some photos of that as well.

looks tasty! but it's not really a 'fixie' is it

  • i'd recomend some sort of chain tug, that wheel axel is dangerously close to the end of the dropouts

im glad you mentiuoned this, saves me starting a new thread

how far is too far with regards to horizontal dropouts? My axle is a bit close for my liking but I don't know how near you can go to the ends and it still be safe. The actual axle isn't protruding from the dropouts but if possible I'd like a little more nut gripping surface area on the dropout

The green Holdsworth is a fixie, it's running a flip flop hub. So it can be fixed/single. In the photos it's set up on the fixed side.

The Paganini is certainly not a fixie, perhaps I shouldn't have posted that, sorry.

  • Of course you should!! and WTF is a fixie!!!!?????

Hi the frame is from London but I'm currently based up in Edinburgh, so I got it resprayed by a really good guy up here, Henderson Metal Cleaning. I can certainly recommend him, he shot blasts the frame first then sprays a primer followed by the final coat.

just because it got two brakes? now don't be a silly cucumber lad.

Andy, for a first build, it's an excellent effort mate.

  • Oh I see what Wmialil means. Yes I am a bit of a pussy, I do not ride without brakes.

  • all hipster bikes, for pavement pushing fashion victims. especially that Murtle.

    get fncked :p

Isn't murtle the only one actually riding his hipsterfixieskiddiebike?

    cheers chunks

Vanity does not choose the street over the track. Bad taste has got nothing to do with performance. Ask a pro.

    i am vain

    Fair point with Murts

    get fncked :p

  • Just about finished My Carlton Flyer I was going to have the Carlton decals redone but I think I will leave it plain.

  • Your best build yet, 8 over 10

  • dibs

  • Nice wheelset, did you relace them?

  • Your best build yet, 8 over 10

    Picture quoted on purpose!

KC.... bloody hell mate, that just made my day.
    **I fucking hate you!!! ; P **
I'm putting alot of time to have my Carlton Flyer built to the (1972) spec,
    but that is really lush.
    Definitely your best bike AFAIK!

  • And no need to redo any decals.
H Lloyd Cycles stocks almost every decal from Carlton Cycles, really cheap.
    I bought mine from them.

  • at KC: really nice build! what crank is that and what's the gear ratio?

Cheers crank Is Campagnolo Record pista with Campagnolo chainring running 50/18
I think the arms are a bit to long for me 177 so I am on the look out for some 165/70

  • Very nice build KC.

Thanks a lot as many forum members Know I buy and sell a lot of bikes but in the end it's to fund ending up with something like this I am really happy with the way it has turned out,and to be fair although I have taken a ribbing sometimes for my builds its being a big learning curve, for which I am gratefull now where is that pink chain lol.

  • I noticed the other day that you and Pisti has recently chosen the same Atlanta wheelset and was waiting for the entente cordiale to commence. :)

Very nice build KC. What size is that stem? There are people on the forum who don't use bars that long.
