dtmpower - if that is only just finished i have to say nice weather wherever you are.
as for your first fixed looks like you got off to a decent start with that conversion. as for your next bike sounds like you are looking for a lo pro. they come up on here from time to time

Ideally would like a track frame with a sloping angled top tube (angled down) with less clearance on the wheels and ideally a smaller front wheel than on the back, as a newbie can you offer any suggestions ?
Looks like a decent ride, that. Good work.
Your ideal bike sounds bloody uncomfortable to me.

I dont know for aesthetic Andy, but for quality.... Goldtec all the way, Miche are made out of cheese
Fuck. They currently are making 135 BCD only. But will have 145BCD soon.
What cranks are the new rings for? -

Here is my project - it was done on a budget and hasn't turned out exactly how I wanted it to.
Going to start a new project with bit more money - ideally would like a track frame with a sloping angled top tube (angled down) with less clearance on the wheels and ideally a smaller front wheel than on the back, as a newbie can you offer any suggestions ?
Prepare a substantially bigger budget. Track lo-pros are not cheap. £250+
Other than that buy and ride what you want. And don't take any notice of what other people say. Lo-pro for the win. -

if you ring, they might well have some. -

Still selling it?
Why don't you put a thread up and actually sell it. -

Can't be fucked. Will do eventually

@KINGCUTTER: What do you mean by English thread bb? Do you mean standard Shimano or are you talking about old Raleigh 26tpi bb threads? My last couple of pugs both had standard Shimano bb threads, so that was nice and easy. It could well be a pug seeing as they made so many different style bikes and with loads of different materials. Just look at how many they made when they thought 103 carbolite would be a good idea! Did it come chrome as original or has it been done after market?

I agree with the other guys. For you first build, on a budget, you've done a good job there. It looks a lot nicer than what I started on. What frame is it? Other than the clearance at the back it looks like a pretty good frame. The heart shaped lugs on the forks makes me think it's a Dawes?

I think it 'was' a Claud Butler

I wouldn't go on that. I have seen loads of bikes with that lug. Hell, my 50's Freddie Grubb has those lugs. They are part of the Nervex Professional range, although other manufacturers may have copied them...

What the heck is going on here.
Are we confusing Taper type with threading?
- An english BB means the BB-shell is 68mm and it has a special thread (can't remember the guage) - as opposed to french / Italian (and crazy cats 73mm - but lets ignore that one).
- Shimano refers to the taper on the BB axle, its lazy speak for JIS, which is again different from Campy, or ISO (and the rarer and equaly crazy cats Old school JIS).
You don't get shimano threads, or ISO threads, or English tapers.

beg to differ.
some ISO/British/english (ISO basically used british standard for their standards, based on the threads used by a bike manufacturer in brum) examples,
1.375" x 24tpi bb thread
1.375" x 24tpi freewheel/cog thread
1" x 24 tpi headset thread
1.29" x 24tpi lockring thread -

it's BSA right?
back in the day, a bike company called birmingham small arms (BSA) made bikes. everyone made different threads. this pissed people off, therefore the british standard cycle (BSC) was developed to solve this. this is the standard people mean when they say british or english. these terms are redundant as a lot of the BSC standards was adopted by the ISO standards. ISO cycling standards cover things from thread, to clamp diameter, to rim diameter etc etc.

So is 'old english' something else then? My 1980s Raleigh has a bb thread of 26tpi which I thought was known as 'old engilsh'

That threading is usually referred to as "Raleigh"
