  • I'm looking forward to delivery of this flying scot clubmans road/ track frame. its going to be my first fixed build in the new year. the seat stays are a bit pitted - my friend Martin had it re-enamelled mid 70s and then never rebuilt it. We reckon lugs are nervex but does anyone know its age or can explain the big pointy fork dropouts! BB is for cottered steel cranks, I wonder if standard Raleigh roadster ones can be used?

  • very nice!!

if you remove the existing BB and change it for a square taper one, you can use any kind of cranks you want

  • You can change the BB if you like to a normal one.

  • *paparazzi????

  • Yeah. I'll swap it for £10 in drugs and a frame with vertical dropouts. Deal? Spit?

  • no its OK thanks - i really like them.

  • Picked this up today. It's going to be butchered and re welded as a cannondale track replica. £29 well spent.

If you look at the bottom of the BB and the back of the forks there will be a letter and a number. The letter corresponds to the year it was built and the number is how many frames had been built that year. My Scot is K22: K means '61 and '62, so it's from springish '61. You can also tell from the headbadge: does it just say 'the Scot' with the picture of the thistle? They used different ones during different periods. Once you know that you can check the catalogue (they're all on a website somewhere, I forget where) to see the specific tubing, if the lugs were Nervex etc. They are very special bikes.

  • Found the frame on ebay by mistake it was under a wrong heading the guy had put spingle speed frame,if he had put single speed I may not have got it,managed to pick up some ok 27'' fixed wheelS as well.

the above is open to debate. the frame was listed in the right section and it had the word *track *and *frame *in the title so there is no reason to assume it was under the radar ........... plus there were 8 different bidders. i was one of the eight.
the listing had good pictures and the seller has had a few nice things recently so he has probably been favourited ALOT.

tell it like it is, don't embelish.
